‘The Morning Show’: Everything You Need to Know About Apple’s Debut Drama
The Morning Show” is coming. Announced two years ago as Apple’s first foray into original programming, the hourlong drama starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell is set to debut November 1 along with the launch of Apple TV+ itself.

But what’s the rumor-starting series about? Per Apple’s official synopsis, “The Morning Show” explores the cutthroat world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning. Told through the lens of two complicated women (Aniston and Witherspoon) working to navigate the minefield of high-octane jobs while facing crises in both their personal and professional lives, “The Morning Show” is an unapologetically candid drama that looks at the power dynamics between women and men, and women and women, in the workplace.

The drama has Kerry Ehrin serving as an executive producer and showrunner, while Mimi Leder is also on board as an E.

‘Lost’ Stars Tell Us About 15 Years of Awkward Fan Encounters on Planes

  • The Wrap
When ABC’s “Lost” premiered on Sept. 22, 2004, it was a risky investment and the most expensive television pilot ever made. For one, it shot on location in Hawaii complete with extremely realistic plane wreckage and explosions. But it soon turned into a cultural milestone that would forever change the face of television.

Lost” was a “water cooler” show the likes of which we may never see again, from a time when audiences still gathered with friends and family on their sofas once a week in front of television sets to watch. Afterwards, they rushed to their desktop computers to post fan theories on the internet’s first chat rooms. It was a time before binge-watching, when “Previously on Lost” provided an essential recap of the most recent flashbacks, flashforwards and flash-sideways; mad-dashes through the jungle; encounters with the smoke monster; Dharma Initiative experiments; polar bears; questions like “What lies in the shadow of the statue?

The series also has a great supporting cast that includes Billy Crudup,

An anchor on the show-within-the-show, she addresses her audience alone at the news desk, bringing them “sad and upsetting news” about her co-host, played by Carell, who she says was fired after allegations were made against him. But his character isn’t the only one whose life is upended by this change, as Aniston’s character is declared to have passed her “sell-by date.” Enter Witherspoon as a field reporter who claims she doesn’t fit “any mold,

‘Paddleton’ Film Review: Ray Romano and Mark Duplass Face Mortality in Moving, Funny Bromance
An unwieldy hybrid of “Step Brothers” and “50/50,” Alex Lehmann’s “Paddleton” offers a funny, surprisingly tender portrait of two arrested-development adult men coming to terms with a terminal illness. Ray Romano continues to offer new dimensions to the dumpy everyman characters he could at this point play in his sleep opposite Mark Duplass’ do-nothing cancer patient, while director and co-writer Lehmann (“Blue Jay”) mines a familiar kind of male bond for an understated, unexpectedly powerful payoff.

Duplass plays Michael, a copy-shop clerk with one friend, his upstairs neighbor Andy (Romano). Notwithstanding their separate apartments, the duo spends virtually every free minute together, mostly rewatching the same kung fu movie while eating frozen pizza, but occasionally venturing outside to play an invented sport called “paddleton” which involves hitting a racquetball off of the screen of an abandoned drive-in movie theater into a barrel.

After Michael’s cancer diagnosis proves inoperable, he
