Georg Stanford Brown was born on June 24, 1943 in Havana, Cuba. He is an actor and director, known for Stir Crazy (1980), Roots (1977) and Bullitt (1968). He was previously married to Tyne Daly.

Daughter Kathryne Dora Brown is an actress and daughter Alisabeth Brown is a potter.
Ex-son-in-law of James Daly and Hope Newell.
Has three daughters: Alisabeth Brown (b. 1968), Kathryne Dora Brown (b. 10-02-1971) and Alyxandra Brown (b. 1985).
Starred in cop show The Rookies (1972), then went on to direct episodes of cop show Hill Street Blues (1981).
He was nominated for an Emmy for his work as Tom Harvey in the mini-series Roots (1977), but that year the academy decided to change the number of nominees from 6 to 5 and his nomination was revoked.
Ex-uncle-in-law of Sam Daly and Emelyn Daly.
Ex-brother-in-law of Tim Daly, Mark Snow and Amy Van Nostrand.
Although he played Ben Vereen's son in Roots (1977), he is more than three years Vereen's senior in real life. Similarly, he played the grandson of Leslie Uggams, who is only four months his senior, in the same production.
Along with Lynne Moody, he is one of only two actors to play the same character (Tom Harvey) in both Roots (1977) and Roots: The Next Generations (1979).
