Let’s Get a Freaks and Geeks Reunion Petition Going

So many other shows get reunions right? Why not a Freaks and Geeks reunion to see where everyone’s at on the show and possibly bring them together for a big hurrah? Linda Cardellini, James Franco, Jason Segel, Seth Rogen, Busy Phillips, Martin Starr, Samm Levine, and John Francis Daly would be a great idea to bring in since they’re who a lot of people are interested in, right? Getting them all in one place for one project might be kind of a chore but it does seem as though it could be done. As far as their careers after the

‘Freaks and Geeks’ at 20: How Paul Feig and Judd Apatow’s Cult Hit Launched the Careers of Seth Rogen, Jason Segel and More
In the TV world, 1999 was a pretty important time. The multi-Emmy Award-winning drama series “The Sopranos” and “The West Wing” premiered that year, as did Nickelodeon’s beloved “SpongeBob SquarePants,” which has spawned two movies and even a Broadway musical, and Seth MacFarlane’s raucous Fox animated “The Family Guy.”

But one of the most fondly remembered series — which kicked off the careers of actors including James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Linda Cardellini, Busy Philipps and John Francis Daley — didn’t even air its complete season. NBC’s high school dramedy “Freaks and Geeks” premiered Sept. 25, 1999, created by a pre-“BridesmaidsPaul Feig and executive produced by Judd Apatow. The producing talent also included “School of Rock” writer Mike White and “Bad Teacher” director Jake Kasdan, and the show also featured guest stars including Ben Foster, Rashida Jones and a baby-faced Shia Labeouf. But after only averaging 6.8 million total live viewers for the season,

Inglourious Basterds: Tarantino’s First Alternate History

Mark Harrison Aug 13, 2019

Inglourious Basterds was Quentin Tarantino's first slice of alternate history in which cinema takes revenge on the Nazis.

This article comes from Den of Geek UK.

This feature contains major spoilers for Inglourious Basterds from the very start.

As a filmmaker, Quentin Tarantino is given to making splashy and subversive films. Right through his new film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, he tends to show us the kind of genre movie he grew up watching before turning it upside down and seeing what comes out. Ten years after it was originally released, his Oscar-winning World War II movie Inglourious Basterds may still represent the greatest product of his filmmaking whims.

The marriage of his sensibilities and the historical arena of WW2 Europe rankled (and continues to rankle with) his critics, but his painstakingly developed men-on-a-mission movie blooms into a truly audacious series of vignettes, which

Comedian Rob Riggle on Why ‘The Office’ Was A Perfectly Crafted Comedy, and His Favorite Episode — Turn It On Podcast
Rob Riggle had just left “Saturday Night Live” but hadn’t done much acting when he booked a gig on “The Office.” It was the show’s second season, and was just hitting its stride with fans, when Riggle landed the one-time role of “Captain Jack” on the now iconic episode “Booze Cruise.”

“It was very early,” Riggle recalled of the 2006 episode. “I was still very green, I had not done much work. My first job in show business [after leaving military active duty] was ‘Saturday Night Live.’ That ‘Office’ episode was between ‘SNL’ and ‘The Daily Show.’ I was just thrilled to be there. You could tell they all liked each other. They appreciated each other, they enjoyed each others’ work.”

Riggle remembers spending time with stars Steve Carell and John Krasinski, plus guest star Amy Adams, as they shot scenes on a boat in Long Beach. Yet, it’s not Riggle’s favorite TV episode of all time.

Sundance 2018 Ushers In the Age of Independent TV With Indie Episodics Line-Up
At the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, TV is invading the schedule in a whole new way. The Park City film fest has previously dabbled in what’s possible on the small screen, but this year marks the launch of the Indie Episodics section — which will spotlight TV pilots that mostly lack mainstream distribution.

The selections include “America to Me,” a new docu-series by “Hoop Dreams” director Steve James; as well as “The Mortified Guide,” a screen adaptation of the popular stage show “Mortified,” spotlighting the most embarrassing true stories of adolescence. There’s also “This Close,” showcasing star/creators Josh Feldman and Shoshannah Stern (both of whom are deaf), and “Franchesca,” featuring digital star and “The Nightly Show” writer/contributor Franchesca Ramsey.

This marks a major change for Sundance, and a renewed commitment to independent television. While Sundance has featured TV programming since the premiere of “Top of the Lake” in
