‘Escape Plan 3: The Extractors’ Review

  • Nerdly
Stars: Sylvester Stallone, Devon Sawa, Dave Bautista, 50 Cent, Jamie King | Written by John Herzfeld, Miles Chapman | Directed by John Herzfeld

Escape Plan 3: The Extractors, directed by John Herzfeld, is the third and final film in the not so good Escape Plan franchise that began in 2013 with a team-up of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and has somehow become a franchise and ended up receiving two direct-to-dvd ensembles with a cast of unknowns, and even weaker narratives. Shot back-to-back with the horrid and Stallone vacant second instalment Escape Plan 2: Hades, yet are both directed by two different directors, completes what is a disaster of a trilogy. The Extractors, thankfully, has nothing in common, in fact has Zero connections to, its predecessor. Yet strangely acts as a direct sequel of sorts to the initial film released in 2013, confused yet? Herzfeld’s film follows Ray Breslin (Stallone) who is hired

‘Escape Plan 2′ Review

  • Nerdly
Stars: Sylvester Stallone, Dave Bautista, Xiaoming Huang, Jesse Metcalfe, 50 Cent, Wes Chatham, Chen Tang, Tyron Woodley, Tyler Jon Olson, Titus Welliver, Shea Buckner, Jaime King, Lydia Hull, Ashley Cusato, Yifan Luo | Written by Miles Chapman | Directed by Steven C. Miller

2013′s Escape Plan was, despite the hype behind the double header of the appearance of Stallone and Schwarzenegger together, something of an underwhelming action flick. Whilst it was a solid movie it didn’t set the world alight and most people, other than genre fans that is, would be hard-pressed to remember the ins-and-outs of the futuristic prison film. But that didn’t stop Stallone from putting together plans for not one but Two sequels, this time teaming with man-mountain and comedy genius Dave Bautista and director Steven C. Miller – who’s no stranger to genre filmmaking, having helmed a trio of Bruce Willis Dtv movies and the Nicolas Cage

Movie Review – Escape Plan 2 (2018)

Escape Plan 2, 2018.

Directed by Steven C. Miller.

Starring Sylvester Stallone, Dave Bautista, Xiaoming Huang, Curtis Jackson, Jesse Metcalfe, Wes Chatham, Jaime King, Chen Tang, and Titus Welliver.

Synopsis:

Ray Breslin is the number one expert when it comes to breaking out of the world’s most impenetrable prisons. When a trusted member of his team disappears inside a computerised jail, he has to track him down and rescue him. From the inside.

Five years ago, we were treated to the spectacle of Messrs Stallone and Schwarzenegger combining their muscle power for the ultimate get out of jail card in Escape Plan. Ok, it was no classic, but it was entertaining enough, in an over the top sort of way. So a sequel, in the shape of Escape Plan 2 (nul points for the title), was inevitable. What wasn’t inevitable was that it would be so bad.

Stallone returns as Ray Breslin.

‘Escape Plan 2: Hades’ Review: Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista Are Trapped in Movie Hell

‘Escape Plan 2: Hades’ Review: Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista Are Trapped in Movie Hell
Welcome to hell. In order to properly contextualize just how painful it is to sit through “Escape Plan 2: Hades,” here is a comprehensive list of the movie’s virtues:

Sylvester Stallone successfully says the word “algorithm.” 50 Cent plays a GQ-styled security expert named “Hush.” There’s a scene where Dave Bautista solves a Rubik’s Cube and then physically threatens Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. At one point, Bautista walks by a marquee for Idina Menzel while wearing an outfit that can only be described as “Pitbull cos-play.” The film immediately cuts away the moment that Stallone begins to creep on one of his employees. That employee is played by Jaime King, an actress who continues to make everything she’s in at least a little bit better. Titus Welliver shows up as an ultra-serious bad guy who insists that his victims call him “The Zookeeper.”

And that’s it.

Newswire: Sylvester Stallone can’t get away from Escape Plan 3

Suggesting that the fourth Expendables movie he recently bailed on must have been a real triumph of suck, Sylvester Stallone has announced that he’ll be returning to his franchise duties on Escape Plan 3. If that title provokes a series of questions—“Was there already an Escape Plan 2?” “Was there already an Escape Plan 1?!”—it’s understandable. The franchise’s first film was only a modest success, pairing Stallone with Arnold Schwarzenegger as they attempted to execute some kind of “prison break.” And the second—which Schwarzenegger skipped out on, and in which Stallone reportedly only had a supporting role—has only just finished shooting.

Nevertheless, Stallone has assured Ep fans that he’ll be reprising his role as security expert Ray Breslin as the series makes a desperate bid for trilogy-dom. Miles Chapman, who wrote the previous films, will return with a new script, while Escape ...

Sylvester Stallone’s Escape Plan 2 finds its director

There was something nostalgic about 2013 prison thriller Escape Plan and the sequel to the movie that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone has now found its director.

The original film’s plot centred on a high security prison as its inmates to try to break out. The film wasn’t exactly met with critical acclaim but that hasn’t stopped Efo from putting together a sequel.

We know that Stallone is on board and now according to The Tracking Board, action movie director Steven C. Miller (The Aggressions Scale, Marauders, Arsenal) has come on board to direct the movie. Arnold Schwarzenegger is not expected to appear.

The script is by the pen of Miles Chapman, the writer of the original Escape Plan. And apparently there will be some Chinese elements to the story per China distributor Leomus Pictures, with the aim of making it more accessible to its target audience.

Sylvester Stallone Returning For Sequel to Escape Plan

Escape Plan, the 2013 prison break movie that co-starred '80s action icons Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, ended up being a bit of a disappointment for fans who grew up wondering what it'd be like if those two big screen badasses shared the screen together. It was pulpy, but not quite up to snuff on a story level. Now there's a sequel brewing, but it appears that only one of the duo will be returning for it.

Deadline reports that Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films is working on a sequel, and Stallone will reprise his role as prison architect Ray Breslin — only this time, it will be in a supporting capacity. Miles Chapman, who wrote the first film, is coming back to write the sequel, which will gear up for production in Ohio and China (where the film performed extremely well) early next year with a planned start date of March 15th.

Sylvester Stallone returning for Escape Plan 2

It looks like Sylvester Stallone is set to find himself back behind bars, with Deadline reporting that Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films has given the green light to a sequel to 2013’s Escape Plan.

The sequel is being penned by Miles Chapman, who also wrote the original, and will see Stallone reprising the role of security expert Ray Breslin, although only in a supporting capacity. Stallone’s co-star in the original, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will not be returning.

Escape Plan 2 will begin pre-production in January ahead of a March shoot in Ohio and China, with the film also receiving financing from a Chinese organisation owing to the solid box office returns for the first movie in the Middle Kingdom, where it grossed $40 million of its $137 million totoal.

‘Escape Plan 2’ on the way; Stallone to return

Sylvester Stallone is to headline a sequel to his 2013 movie Escape Plan. His role is said to be reduced to a supporting capacity in the new one though, but there will be no sign of co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger this time around, so reports Deadline.

His latest job leads to a double-cross, leaving him stuck in a high-tech facility with the worst that society has to offer. Luckily for Ray, he meets Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger), an inmate who secretly helps him hatch a plot to win his freedom. Only sadistic warden Hobbes (Jim Caviezel) stands in the way of the two men successfully making it out alive.

Miles Chapman, who wrote the first film, will return for the sequel, which will be shopped at the American Film Market this week.
