Pennywise Spin-Off Movies Are Possible Says It Writer

Pennywise Spin-Off Movies Are Possible Says It Writer
Will we get a Pennywise spin-off movie? Maybe. Earlier this year we finally witnessed "The End of It" with Mama writer-director Andy Muschietti's adaptation of Stephen King's It: Chapter Two. But Pennywise might not be as dead as we were led to believe.

Today, we're hearing from It and Annabelle Comes Home screenwriter Gary Dauberman that he thinks a spin-off is possible.

"I do think it's possible. Anything in the Stephen King Universe interests me but there's only so much of the story we could tell in the two movies. There are definitely elements of the novel you could expand on and make its own movie. It's just a question of whether or not people want to see it but I do think It was on this planet for a very, very, very long time and that's a lot of bloodshed and a lot of stories to tell

It: Chapter Two Writer Says There Are A Lot More Pennywise Stories To Tell

The It series will undoubtedly be remembered as containing two of the scariest movies of this generation. It’s just such a shame that the storyline had to end with It: Chapter Two, as it feels like there’s so much more of Pennywise’s evil antics left to explore. Fans don’t want it to be over, the cast doesn’t want it to be over and (given the massive amount of money the first two films made) the studio doesn’t want it to be over, either.

In Hollywood nowadays, it’s common to develop countless spinoffs and sequels pertaining to a popular franchise until the public gets sick of them and while there’s nothing currently in the works to extend the It series, the screenwriter behind the flicks thinks there’s enough material there to make these ideas into a reality.

In Gary Dauberman’s own

Swamp Thing Producer Reveals Cancelled Season 2 Plans

Gary Dauberman, the creator and executive producer of Swamp Thing and co-writer of its excellent pilot episode, has spoken about his plans for the second season of the prematurely cancelled show.

Despite a strong debut, Swamp Thing was cancelled less than a week after the airing of its first outing, the details surrounding which were as murky as its titular quagmire and not immediately explained. Even more frustrating for its immediate fans, it remained marketed as must-watch TV, which was seen as a sign that Warner Bros. were uninterested in properly developing DC Universe and its content, but rather just using the streaming service to make money.

While being interviewed by ComicBookMovie.com recently, Dauberman was asked about what else had been planned for the series had it gone ahead, and here’s what he shared:

“The swamp is very much the kitchen sink of supernatural terror and, as you know,

It: Chapter Two Writer Says A Spinoff Is Possible

Along with a supercut of It: Chapter Two being talked about by director Andy Muschietti, we’re also getting word that there may be more to explore in Pennywise’s universe. After all, given that the demonic clown has been knocking about for quite some time, we probably haven’t heard about all the residents in Derry, Maine that he’s terrorized.

In fact, the writer of both It films, Gary Dauberman, has now said that a spinoff may happen in the future. Speaking with Comic Book Movie, the scribe noted that there’s more to discover in Stephen King’s classic horror novel and he seems interested in expanding on it as there’s “only so much of the story we could tell in the two movies.”

He wonders whether audiences would want to see a spinoff, though. And while we can’t speak for everyone, we’re pretty

‘It Chapter Two’ Book vs. Movie: The Biggest Changes from Stephen King’s Novel

Be aware there are Spoilers for It, It Chapter Two and Stephen King's original novel below. Stephen King's It is a beast. A massive horror epic that spans decades, embraces a vast ensemble of characters, details the sprawling history of Derry, Maine, and dips a toe in mind-bending cosmic mythology, the exact details of the novel were never going to make it to the screen, even with two long feature films. Director Andy Muschietti and screenwriter Gary Dauberman had to do a lot of trimming to transform King's classic story into a two-part tale -- even …

'It' Screenwriter on Making First Directorial Feature With 'Naked Singularity'

It’s been a long journey for Chase Palmer from his first critically acclaimed shorts — Neo-Noir, which premiered at Sundance in 2002, and 2004’s Shock and Awe — to Naked Singularity, his feature debut as a director, which producer, financier and sales house Anton is selling at Afm. In between, Palmer honed his craft as a screenwriter, penning two Black List scripts and co-writing — with Cary Fukunaga and Gary DaubermanAndy Muschietti’s It reboot, which grossed more than $700 million worldwide, making it the most successful horror film of all time.

Now Palmer has shifted genres for his directorial ...

‘Annabelle Comes Home’ Blu-ray Review

  • Nerdly
Stars: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Mckenna Grace, Madison Iseman, Katie Sarife, Michael Cimino, Samara Lee | Written and Directed by Gary Dauberman

Annabelle Comes Home, directed by occasional franchise writer Gary Dauberman, is the latest entry into the ongoing Conjuring property and sets itself just after the events of the first Annabelle feature with the Warrens, played by returning actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, bringing the demonic doll back to their sacred museum for storage. What unfolds is arguably the best story told and the most frightening and impactful horror in the franchise since the first Conjuring feature.

Dauberman’s film is a perfect culmination of the series thus far. Managing to stand out on its own and not a constant barrage of dependable referential tie-ins that most franchises almost seven films deep tend to gravitate towards. Granted, Dauberman pulls out the big guns with the inclusion of famed horror icons the Warrens,

See How a ‘Conjuring’-Verse Demon Is Made in Exclusive ‘Annabelle Comes Home’ Blu-ray Clip

James Wan's growing The Conjuring-verse had its Avengers moment earlier this year in Gary Dauberman's charming funhouse of horror, Annabelle Comes Home. Set after the events of The Conjuring, the film sees Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as the demon-hunting Warrens and put the focus on their daughter Judy (McKenna Grace), who faced down a host of the franchise's most popular demons -- including, of course, that deadly demon doll Annabelle. But the film also introduced some new demonic creations of its own, including the long-awaited arrival of the Hellhound, as well as Dauberman'…

Annabelle Comes Home and Teenage Horror: A Film Review

*full disclosure: a Blu-ray of this film was provided by the publicity division of Warner Bros. Director: Gary Dauberman. Writers: James Wan and Gary Dauberman. Cast: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Mckenna Grace, Madison Iseman and Katie Sarife. Annabelle Comes Home is the third film in the Annabelle series and the seventh film in The Conjuring universe; all three Annabelle films have been written by Gary Dauberman. While this film fan enjoyed Annabelle: Creation (2017), this latest title is very limited in surprises or scares. In the first hour, the scariest incident involves a loud knock at a door. Unfortunately, there is still another fourty-five minutes to go. Even the story is light as a babysitter does her best to look after a young girl, while Mary Ellen's (Madison Iseman) friend unlocks a haunted room. An inanimate doll is now on the loose as the yawntastic action fails to gain steam. Annabelle Comes Home

Does ‘It Chapter Two’ Have a Post-Credits Scene?

Does ‘It Chapter Two’ Have a Post-Credits Scene?
A few decades ago we’d often get three or four different Stephen King adaptations a year in theaters and on television, and 2019 feels like a throwback because it’s got so many new ones: “It Chapter Two,” In the Tall Grass,” “Pet Sematary,” season 2 of “Castle Rock,” and “Doctor Sleep.” That’s a lot of Stephen King things.

Based on the adult-focused parts of Stephen King’s iconic novel, “It Chapter Two” takes place 27 years after the first film. The Losers Club, now adults who have gone their separate ways, reluctantly reunite in Derry to fulfill the blood oath they made to each other and finish off the evil Pennywise once and for all. Director/writer pair Andy Muschietti and Gary Dauberman return, with James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone and Andy Bean playing the older versions of the Losers Club members.

Review: It: Chapter Two (2019)

It is not really accurate calling this second chapter to Andy Muschietti’s immensely successful 2017 film It: Chapter One a sequel. Instead, I prefer to think of it as one whole monster of an adaptation of Stephen King’s mighty horror tome It, a novel many think of as the legendary author’s magnum opus. However, after the first half of the story conquered the box office and won acclaim from fans and critics alike, this second chapter always had serious hype to match, not to mention wrangling the more problematic – and fantasy driven – end of King’s narrative to the big screen (see how the 1990 miniseries version suffered with its second half). Miraculously, Muschietti’s It: Chapter Two stands side by side with his first chapter beautifully and advances the past as well as the present.

To say the film’s hefty (just shy of) 3-hour running length has been hotly debated,
