Dune Remake Is a Brutal, Shocking, Scary Nightmare According to Oscar Isaac
Oscar Isaac has some pretty interesting words to describe Denis Villeneuve's upcoming Dune remake. It was recently announced that the movie had shifted from its November 20th, 2020 release date to December 18th, 2020. Isaac is currently out promoting The Rise of Skywalker, which opens next week, but he is clearly excited for Dune fans to see what Villeneuve has crafted. Production wrapped on the project back at the end of July and we haven't seen too many updates, other than the release date change.

Denis Villeneuve's Dune remake sounds like it really is going to be closer to Frank Herbert's source material. Fans have been clamoring for a real adaptation on the big screen and Villeneuve has been hard at work trying to make that happen. Oscar Isaac plays Duke Leto Atreides, father of Paul Atreides (Timoth&#233e Chalamet), and husband to Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson). He had this

Oscar Isaac Says Denis Villeneuve’s Vision for ‘Dune’ Is ‘Nightmarish’ and ‘Brutalist’

Oscar Isaac Says Denis Villeneuve’s Vision for ‘Dune’ Is ‘Nightmarish’ and ‘Brutalist’
Oscar Isaac is returning to the big screen this Christmas as Poe Dameron in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” but it’s the actor’s next Christmas tentpole that reporters can’t stop asking about. Isaac is starring as Duke Leto Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune.” Isaac’s character is the father of the film’s protagonist, Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet. Isaac is currently on his “Star Wars” press tour but took a moment while talking with Collider to tease Villeneuve’s grand vision for his “Dune” adaptation.

“I couldn’t imagine anyone more suited for the tone of the original Frank Herbert novels than Denis,” Isaac said. “There are some things that are — for lack of a better word — nightmarish about what you see. There’s just this kind of brutalist element to it. It’s shocking. It’s scary. It’s very visceral. And

The Suicide Squad Will Reportedly Feature Two Separate Squads

The Suicide Squad is set to bring back a bunch of stars from the 2016 movie, as well as welcoming a horde of new faces into Task Force X. When writer/director James Gunn unveiled the full cast list a few months ago, fans were left perplexed over how so many characters could be squeezed into the DC sequel. Well, wonder no more, as we now have the answer: the movie will feature two separate squads (spoilers to follow).

We Got This Covered has received an update on the plot from our sources – the same ones who told us Viola Davis would return in the film and that a Green Lantern show was in the works for HBO Max, both of which turned out to be true – and apparently, there will be two different teams in the movie. Squad A is the one we’ve already seen in action thanks to set photos.

Abigail Spencer Tees Up Hulu's Timeless Reprisal Thriller: 'If Tarantino and David Lynch Had a Baby...'
Oh, there will be Reprisal against some very bad men, and Abigail Spencer is gunning to deliver it via Hulu’s palpably pulpy hyper-noir revenge drama.

Created by Josh Corbin (StartUp) and releasing all 10 episodes on Friday, Dec. 6, Reprisal stars Spencer as Katherine Harlow, a bold brunette who in the very first scene is brutally punished for undisclosed transgressions, and left for dead. Years later, she resurfaces as Doris Quinn, a soft-spoken blonde who is furtively unfurling a dark revengenda. The stylized thriller’s ensemble also includes Rodrigo Santoro (Westworld), Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Rhys Wakefield (True Detective), Madison Davenport (From

‘A Million Little Pieces’ Review: Adaptation of Notorious Bestseller is Bound by Shortcomings

During the ensuing fallout once James Frey’s memoir A Million Little Pieces was exposed as a fabrication well beyond his statement admitting to having altered “small details” of his past, it was discovered that the author had tried getting it published as fiction to no avail. Random House, the place that ultimately printed it and watched its ascent to the number one bestseller slot thanks to a coveted spot on Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club list, was supposedly one of the establishments that rejected it back then too. The reason is simple: nothing that happens is unique to what we’ve already read or seen before countless other times. What finally made it worthwhile was the veracity it couldn’t uphold. Cliché can be forgiven if born from truth. This wasn’t.

What does that mean for a cinematic adaptation from wife and husband duo Sam Taylor-Johnson (director and

Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ Movie Sequel Takes Step Forward in Development — Report
Good news for “Dune” fans: The potential sequel for Denis Villeneuve’s 2020 science-fiction tentpole is moving forward with screenwriter Jon Spaihts. The Wrap reports that Spaihts is stepping down as showrunner of the HBO Max television series “Dune: The Sisterhood” in order to put all of his focus on developing the potential sequel to Villeneuve’s “Dune” movie. A new showrunner for the series will be named in the future. The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news of Spaihts’ “Dune” switch.

WarnerMedia confirmed in June that it was moving ahead with a straight-to-series order for the television series “Dune: The Sisterhood.” The show is set to explore the world of Frank Herbert’s landmark 1965 science-fiction novel through the eyes of the Bene Gesserit, a mysterious order of women who have extraordinary abilities. Villeneuve was announced to direct the pilot of the series following his work helming the upcoming “Dune” feature film.

Harris to return as Luis, Kurt and Dave. Because really, …

Dune Star Rebecca Ferguson Says Director Denis Villeneuve's Take on the Story Will Honor the Strength of the Female Characters

Fans are pretty excited about director Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming adaptation of the Frank Herbert sci-fi novel Dune. Just the cast alone is enough to get anyone pumped up about the film. It includes Timothee Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name), Rebecca Ferguson (The Greatest Showman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Zendaya (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War), Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Stellan Skarsgard (Good Will Hunting), Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men), David Dastmalchian (Suicide Squad), and more.

While the movie is based on the novel, the sci-fi classic did come out in 1965, so if they are to bring the story up to date, some of the antiquated ideas of equality and gender roles will also need to be brought up to date. In a recent interview with ComingSoon, Rebecca Ferguson was out promoting her latest film, Doctor Sleep.

Rebecca Ferguson Teases Her ‘Dune’ Character: ‘She’s the Best Fighter There Is’
Sweden-born actress Rebecca Ferguson, already coming off a busy 2019 with “Men In Black: International” and “The Kid Who Would Be King,” will soon be seen in director Mike Flanagan’s sequel to Stephen King’s “The Shining,” “Doctor Sleep.” But the upcoming role that’s even more anticipated by certain audiences is her turn in Denis Villeneuve’s Frank Herbert adaptation, “Dune.” Slated for a theatrical release on November 20, 2020, the film also stars Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet. (IndieWire recently broke down everything you need to know about the upcoming sci-fi epic here.)

In a recent video interview with Fandom while touting “Doctor Sleep,” Ferguson revealed the first details about her “Dune” character, Lady Jessica.

“Something that Denis Villeneuve and the writers have really taken into consideration is [that] this book was written back in the day when women were portrayed differently to what we are expecting nowadays — which we call gender equality,

David Dastmalchian on Dreaming Up Comic 'Count Crowley' on Movie Sets

David Dastmalchian on Dreaming Up Comic 'Count Crowley' on Movie Sets
Earlier this year, actor David Dastmalchian found himself on the set of Dune, marveling at what filmmaker Denis Villeneuve was creating. Though he was transported to another time on a faraway planet for the sci-fi film, the actor found himself thinking of something very different: fighting vampires in the 1980s.

"I was on break, sitting in my trailer, and I started jotting down this idea that had been woken up in me," Dastmalchian tells The Hollywood Reporter.

It was one idea out of many the actor had be tinkering with since childhood that made their way into his new project,...

Ranking The Films Of Kevin Smith Post “Jay And Silent Bob Reboot”

Last week, Kevin Smith released Jay and Silent Bob Reboot as a two night special through Fathom Events. The movie is a lot of fun and very much in the wheelhouse of Smith fans. To celebrate that release, as well as the upcoming further unveiling of the film through a Roadshow style release, complete with Smith Q&a’s after, I’m going to be updating my list of the filmmaker’s best work to date. This flick is another quality effort of his, though really just meant for the fans, as well as Smith himself. Still, if you get a chance to check it out, it’s well worth your time… The film is, obviously, a sequel to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, while being a bit of a rebook/remake as well. In fact, it’s also a satire of how Hollywood reboots all intellectual property these days.

Why The Suicide Squad Doesn't Need Joker According to James Gunn

  • MovieWeb
Why The Suicide Squad Doesn't Need Joker According to James Gunn
James Gunn has a pretty good answer as to why Joker doesn't need to be included in The Suicide Squad. Jared Leto's Clown Prince of Crime was featured in 2016's Suicide Squad, albeit briefly. Leto was all over the promotional material for the movie and many DC fans expected him to have a large part in the project. Even Leto himself thought he was going to have a bigger role. That was not in the cards and it looks like Gunn may be keeping him out of The Suicide Squad altogether, though he doesn't outright confirm that.

James Gunn took part in an impromptu Q&a Instagram story session yesterday and spoke about a variety of different subjects with his fans. There were a lot of questions about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but there were also a lot having to do with The Suicide Squad.
