Hulu's Halloween Episode of Into the Dark Is Like Jumanji Soaked in Nightmare Fuel

  • Popsugar
Viewed through a certain lens, Jumanji can be classified as a horror film. A young boy being sucked into a board game, left to fend for himself in the wild for decades? Another young boy turned into a hideous monkey-person? Giant, skittering spiders dripping with poison? A massive, bloodthirsty plant? All the Robin Williams jokes in the world can't erase the fact that the 1995 movie is essentially a nightmarish spin on every parents' "it's just a game" ethos. There's no mistaking the genre of the Halloween-themed episode of Hulu's Into the Dark, though, which takes the scariest elements from Jumanji and runs with them.

Into the Dark is Hulu's anthology series in partnership with Blumhouse, which has steadily churned out an episode of season-appropriate horror since premiering last October. Though it's usually hit-and-miss - I recommend December's "New Year, New You," episode starring Suki Waterhouse and Carly Chaikin, and

Halloween Kills Gets Robert Longstreet as Returning School Bully Lonnie Elam

  • MovieWeb
Halloween Kills Gets Robert Longstreet as Returning School Bully Lonnie Elam
Robert Longstreet has been cast as the grown-up Lonnie Elam in Halloween Kills. Blumhouse has been spared no time in getting the sequel prepared for production as the casting process continues. Lonnie Elam was originally played by Brent Le Page, and first appeared in John Carpenter's original Halloween as a school bully of Tommy Doyle. 2018's Halloween saw Lonnie's son Cameron, played by Dylan Arnold, enter the franchise, which has erased everything that came after the 1978 original. It is unclear how Longstreet's version of Lonnie will fit into the plot of the upcoming sequel.

Lonnie Elam isn't the only character returning from John Carpenter's 1978 slasher classic. It was announced a few weeks ago that Anthony Michael Hall will be portraying Tommy Doyle in Halloween Kills, a role that was originally played by Brian Andrews. Doyle showed up a few more times in the franchise, with Paul Rudd taking on

‘After’ Review: An Uninspired Teen Drama at the Intersection of El James, Nicholas Sparks, and Freeform

Based upon Anna Todd’s novel–which itself has been described as a work of One Direction fan fiction–After is a mild entry into the good girl takes a walk on the wild side genre that’s been the basis for countless teen romances, thrillers, and Nicolas Sparks romantic dramas. Jenny Gage, the director of the admired All This Panic–a film about the internal lives of teenage girls battling dysfunctional families, uncertain living conditions, and the general anxiety of growing up and going to college–is certainly an interesting choice to direct After, although Catherine Breillat would have been an inspired one.

Josephine Langford stars as Tessa Young, a freshman attending a generic college in the suburbs of a major North American city who leaves behind protective mother Carol (Selma Blair) and high school senior boyfriend Noah (Dylan Arnold). She’s paired in a dorm with bisexual hipster Steph (Khadijha Red Thunder) who,

Blumhouse hires screenwriter for Halloween sequel

After scoring a huge success last year with its Halloween sequel/reboot, it seems that Blumhouse Productions is pushing ahead with its plans for a new instalment in the slasher series (Halloween II again?), with Collider reporting that Scott teems has been hired to write the script.

Teems has previously worked with Blumhouse on the scripts for the Stephen King adaptations Firestarter and The Breathing Method, which have Faith Akin and Scott Derrickson attached to direct respectively, while his other credits include the TV dramas Rectify and Narcos: Mexico. Teems had apparently already written a treatment for the next Halloween, which has been well received at Blumhouse.

Halloween Deleted Scene Reveals What Happened to Cameron & His Connection to the Original!

One of the few loose ends in David Gordon Green’s Halloween is what happened to Allyson’s cheating boyfriend, Cameron (played by Dylan Arnold)? Halloween Deleted Scene Explains Cameron's Sudden Disappearance

A new deleted scene for Halloween explains what happened to the character Cameron, who seemed to disappear during the film. One of the film's more unlikable characters, Cameron appeared to play a larger role in Halloween until he suddenly vanished before the final act.

Halloween is the most recent addition to the long line of Halloween movies featuring the iconic serial killer Michael Myers, and unlike previous films in the franchise, David Gordon Green's movie didn't follow the continuity of any of the Halloween sequels, instead taking place directly after the original 1978 Halloween. Previous sequels had started different timelines by ignoring certain films, but this year's Halloween made headlines since Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis made her return to the series. Not only that, but Carpenter himself was heavily involved in the project and even returned to score the film. Along with the returning cast and crew, Halloween also

Halloween Director Says He Kept One Character Alive For The Sequel

As usual, Michael Myers slaughtered his way through pretty much all of the supporting cast of 2018’s Halloween. You might remember someone who never encountered the character, though, and therefore lived to escape the movie unscathed: Cameron Elam, the boyfriend of Laurie Strode’s granddaughter Allyson.

Essentially, Cameron’s role in the film is purely as a narrative device to get Allyson on her own and vulnerable. If you’ll recall, when she sees him kissing another girl at the Halloween dance, they argue, he breaks her phone and she goes off into the night with just nerdy friend Oscar for company (who’s quickly offed by Michael).

If that’s the last you thought we’d see of Cameron, though, you’d be wrong, as director David Gordon Green revealed to Collider that Dylan Arnold’s character was deliberately left alive so that he could return in the expected sequel,
