‘Neighbors’ Director Nick Stoller Sets ‘Florida Man’ Put Pilot at Fox
A one-hour rom-com procedural set in the Florida Panhandle is in the works at Fox.

The network has issued a put pilot commitment to “Florida Man,” which hails from “Neighbors” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” director Nick Stoller, and “Bones” producer Carla Kettner.

“Florida Man” centers around the loquacious, eccentric Bell Prescott, who hasn’t left the rambling property on the Apachicola River that he shares with his mother since a personal tragedy occurred five years ago. When Bell discovers a dead body, he’s forced to venture beyond his agoraphobic boundaries and grudgingly partner with the sole remaining cop in town, the practical, brutally direct Cammie Jessop, to solve the murder. With local infrastructure decimated, Bell grudgingly becomes the town’s volunteer criminologist, investigating murders with Cammie as he secretly tries to solve the crime that destroyed his life.

The prospective show is being made by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment.

HBO Max Orders Lena Dunham-Produced High School Dramedy ‘Generation’ to Series
HBO Max has given out a series order to the half-hour high school dramedy “Generation.” The project had been ordered to pilot at the nascent streamer earlier this year, meaning this is the first HBO Max pilot to get picked up to series.

The ten-episode series follows a group of high school students whose exploration of modern sexuality (devices and all) tests deeply entrenched beliefs about life, love and the nature of family in their conservative community. The cast includes Nathanya Alexander, Chloe East, Nava Mau, Lukita Maxwell, Haley Sanchez, Uly Schlesinger, Sam Trammell, and Chase Sui Wonders, with Justice Smith and Martha Plimpton.

The series was created by 18-year old Zelda Barnz and her father Daniel Barnz, with Daniel also having directed the pilot. Daniel serves as executive producers along with Ben Barnz for We’re Not Brothers Productions, with Zelda co-executive producing. Lena Dunham executive produces under her Good Thing Going Productions banner.

Project Runway Returns for Season 18: Were the Right Designers Booted First? Plus, Let's Discuss the 'Siriano Save'
If Thursday’s Project Runway premiere was any indication, we’re in for a season of surprises. Not only did host Karlie Kloss blindside the 16 new designers with a team challenge right off the bat, but she also introduced the possibility of a “Siriano Save,” which allows mentor Christian Siriano to bring back an eliminated contestant he deems worthy of a second chance. The game has changed.

“Inspired by the space race,” the first challenge of Season 18 required the designers to pair up and design two different outfits to wear during an interstellar vacation, “a jumpsuit for daytime excursions and

Legacies' Danielle Rose Russell Says Hope is 'Heartbroken' Over Landon's Choice

Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) had a choice to make on this week's episode of Legacies, and we can't say we're jealous of a guy who had to decide whether he wanted to be with Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) or Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant). Legacies' Danielle Rose Russell Reacts to Landon's 'Choice,' Ponders That Twisted Riddle: 'Be Very Concerned'
Legacies‘ latest supernatural visitor turned out to be a real know-it-all.

The legendary Sphinx popped up — as so many Malivore monsters do — in the heart of Mystic Falls on Thursday, interrupting an awkward conversation between Hope, Josie and Lizzie, the latter of whom did her best to ease the tensions between Landon’s scorned love interests. (“For the two of you not to be talking to each other just because you’re competing for the love of the same garden gnome, I think we’re more evolved than that as women.”)

Chuck Lorre Talks Streaming Vs. Broadcast, WGA-Agency Battle at Innovate Summit
With “The Kominsky Method,” Chuck Lorre ventured out of his broadcast comedy comfort zone and took a leap into the world of streaming, an unknown quantity for him.

During a keynote conversation at the Variety Innovate summit, held Thursday at the 1 Hotel in West Hollywood, Lorre talked about how making a show for a streaming platform changed him as a writer. Rather than presiding over the large writer’s rooms of his many classic broadcast shows, doing “The Kominsky Method” for Netflix meant that Lorre was writing solo for the first time in many years.

‘Magic for Humans’ Review: Justin Willman Pulls Back the Curtain Even Further in a Delightful Season 2

‘Magic for Humans’ Review: Justin Willman Pulls Back the Curtain Even Further in a Delightful Season 2
Here’s the best thing about “Magic for Humans”: Even if you’re completely convinced every trick that host Justin Willman does on camera is part of a pre-planned pact with “unsuspecting” passersby, you can still enjoy the show. If your belief is that onscreen magic is all somehow a scripted scam, Season 2 of this Netflix series still works on a beat-for-beat comedic level that’s one step ahead of your objections. Therein lies the fun. Regardless of which side of that illusion/laugh divide is the hook, these latest six episodes pick up right where the first batch left off.

Season 2 follows the same rough outline the first season did, with Willman giving a thematic overview of each episode from the comfort of a blank-walled studio. From there, it’s out to various remote Los Angeles locales to watch Willman perform sleight of hand and unveil elaborate surprises
