Betty Is Wasted

This is interesting in that it combines live footage with animated. Two guys in uniform sing the title song first, then we go to the usual Fleischer animation. The whole thing is in the shadow of World War One, although 1932 is peace time and the middle of the depression. This song, of course, talks of the bane of all of us, early rising to get to work. I tend to stay away from the bouncing ball bit, but I guess people enjoyed singing the songs in their theaters. Accept it as a different era with different forms of entertainment. It was disappointing to not see much of Betty Boop, other than to introduce the song.
