Cadet Girl (1941)
- Summaries (2)
West Point cadet Tex Mallory falls in love with Gene Baxter, a girl who sings with his brother's band. Even though it will mean his leaving the Academy, they decide to marry. But when brother Bob writes a patriotic ballad, Tex knows service to country must come before marriage.
While their father always wanted both of his sons to be West Pointers, 'Tex' is a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy, while his brother Bob, because of a slight eye-defect that kept him out, is the leader of a swing band in New York City. The girl soloist with the band, Gene Baxter, is in love with Bob. While on summer furlough, 'Tex' goes to New York and is given a job of singing with the band. The brothers quarrel and 'Tex' forms his own orchestra and Gene, now in love with 'Tex', goes with his band. The new band is an immediate success while Bob's band, without Gene, hits the skids.
