Peppino De Filippo,
Titina De Filippo
An extremely watchable adaptation of the play by Machiavelli with a first rate cast headed by Philippe Leroy(so good in 'Le Trou') and the ravishing Rosanna Schiaffino who should really have succeeded Sophia Loren but was beaten to it by Claudia Cardinale! Romolo Valli, Nilla Pizzi and Jean-Claude Brialy all excellent. First class production values and marvellous camera work by Tonino delli Colli. I generally find Lattuarda's films to be workmanlike but with this he surpassed himself. Bawdy and irreverent fun. Highly recommended.
