Storyline

The arch-villains of the United Underworld - the Joker, the Penguin, the Riddler and the Catwoman - combine forces to dispose of Batman and Robin as they launch their fantastic plot to control the entire world. From his submarine, Penguin and his cohorts hijack a yacht containing a dehydrator, which can extract all moisture from humans and reduce them to particles of dust. The evildoers turn the nine Security Council members in the United World Building into nine vials of multicolored crystals! Batman and Robin track the villains in their Batboat and use Batcharge missiles to force the submarine to surface. Written by Aaron Handy III <ah07@gnofn.org>

Trivia

The Penguin's line, "We have not yet begun to fight!" is a reference to John Paul Jones' famous response during the early phase of the Battle of Flamborough Head on September 23, 1779 to an inquiry by his opponent, Captain Richard Pearson of the Royal Navy ship HMS Serapis, as to whether he was surrendering his ship, the USS Bonhomme Richard. Goofs

(at around 9 mins) At the press conference following Batman's fight with the shark, Batman replies to a reporter's question about the yacht by saying, "Nonsense - how can a yacht simply disappear?" Discussing the yacht in the next scene at the Batcave, he says to Robin, "As you, yourself, stated, a yacht simply can't disappear." Batman credits Robin with saying something at the conference he actually said. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Narrator: This yacht is bringing a revolutionary scientific invention to Gotham City. On a peaceful afternoon motor ride, millionaire Bruce Wayne and his youthful ward Dick Grayson have been summoned back to Wayne Manor by an urgent but anonymous call for help; the invention *and* its custodian are reported in grave danger aboard the yacht! Never ones to shirk responsibility, Bruce and Dick, with characteristic speed and resolve, descend promptly into The Batcave, and then, as they have done...

Its OK To Laugh - Its meant to be funny
13 January 2010 | by JakemcclakeSee all my reviews

As a story of a super hero goes, this Batman did not cut it, and it is not as good as Tim Burton's Batman movies. However, as comedy and something off the wall, this one has the stuff to make it.

Spoiler - Wait till you see how Batman and Robin escape the torpedo that got through Batman's utility belt defenses.

Burgess Meredith, Caesar Romero turned in great performances as the villains Penquin and Joker, and Frank Gorshin's terrific crazy laugh as the Riddler was everpresent.

Lee Merriweather tookover for Julie Neumaur as the Catwoman and played catwoman well using her charms on Bruce Wayne.

For those of us that were young at the time, it worked out to be a good ending and a good experience.
