Grace Kelly's only completed movie since retiring from the screen in 1957. She was also a front runner for Marnie (1964) (for her favorite director, Sir Alfred Hitchcock) and, at the time of her death, was preparing an official comeback with the never-completed 1982 drama "Rearranged", which would have paired her with Edward Meeks and Robert Dornhelm.

One of the producers was Edgar Rosenberg, who had just married comedienne Joan Rivers. Rivers, a visitor to the set, rather maliciously wrote that Rita Hayworth was a real handful during this time: demanding, incoherent, but still looking very glamorous. It is quite possible that by this time, Hayworth was already beginning to suffer from the effects of Alzheimer's Disease, which would eventually kill her.
