In a very infamous scene in the movie this TV show is based on, Pinto, played by Tom Hulce, starts making out with a girl who then passes out. He then debates whether or not to rape her. Pinto winds up not doing this; he carries her home and plops her on her doorstep. And then at the end of the movie the girl and her father (the town mayor) confront Pinto; and she says "Daddy, this is the boy who molested me!" The girl then reveals she was 13 at the time of their encounter. All of this is played for laughs. The Tv show was toned down considerably from this! They even changed the name from Animal House to Delta House because even the title might be offensive.

John Vernon (Dean Wormer), Stephen Furst (Flounder), Bruce McGill (D-Day) and James Widdoes (Hoover) were the only cast members to reprise their roles from the movie.
The movie Animal House was originally going to be a very black, off color, off kilter comedy about Charles Manson in high school. This was eventually deemed to be too weird, shocking and offensive; so it was turned into a raunchy variation on American Graffiti; set in the early 1960s (just like American Graffiti). The movie was eventually spun off into this very tame sitcom. It's hard to believe a very shocking National Lampoon comedy about Charles Manson eventually evolved into this very tame 1970s sitcom with a laugh track; but here it is.
Stephen Furst would go on to star in St Elsewhere. Michelle Pfeiffer would go on to A-list stardom.
