Not Plympton's Best In Humor, But It Could Serve A Good Purpose
Frankly, I agree with fellow reviewer MattHuls: I didn't think this was one of Bill Plympton's better early efforts. Gee, he had 25 different jokes all packed into five minutes but few, if any, really made me laugh. Usually, Plympton's material draws some big guffaws out of me.
Three of the 'ways to quit" - "Notice How It Ages You," "Overindulge" and "Join An African Tribe" - did draw laughs from me, mainly because of Plymptons crazy illustrations.
If nothing else, after watching 25 of these "ways to quit smoker," I would think it might make a few smokers think about it. It sure didn't making smoking attractive and would have made a good anti-smoking campaign advertisement.
