"Intersection" stars Richard Gere, Lolita Davidovich,Sharon Stone, and Martin Landau. This film is an American adaptation of the 1970 French drama entitled,"Les Choses de la Vie". It tells the story of Vincent Eastman who met an accident on a mountain road in Canada. Once it was established that he is going to hit head first and meet a fatal accident, the events of life flashback from his relationships like his wife Sally, his mistress Olivia, his daughter Meaghan, and his friend Neal. It examines all the relationships that Vincent has had with each one of them.
Despite the being a meditative film based on the French movie,it was evident that it fails in that regard as the performers practically dominate the movie and the viewer would somehow focus on them rather on their character. All glamorous movie stars - Gere,Stone, Davidovich - were at their prime sexiness when this was released. Added to that, most of the characters lack depth that one would find this more of a soap opera with melodramatic themes rather than a serious film. Finally,we also use the elements of suspense and surprise in presenting ideas. Add impatience as a characteristic on the themes as well.
Overall, the movie could have been a better one if we used lesser known thespians who could perform and if the characters are given depth.
