Black Widow Delay Causes Marvel's McU to Break a Long-Standing Tradition

Black Widow Delay Causes Marvel's McU to Break a Long-Standing Tradition
Disney recently shuffled around its theatrical release schedule for 2020/2021 and the biggest franchise impacted, by far, was the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Black Widow, which had been scheduled to arrive in May as the first Phase 4 entry in the McU, had previously been delayed. Given the uncertainty with when theaters will reopen around the world, Natasha Romanoff's solo debut has been pushed to November. And with that, the McU will be breaking a long-running tradition for the first time in nearly a decade.

The McU officially kicked off in 2008 when both Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk were released. Since the gears were just getting moving on the whole shared cinematic universe at that point, 2009 turned into a gap year. Iron Man 2 arrived in 2010 as the only McU movie that year. Ever since then, we've been treated to at least two titles per year in the franchise with 2011 bringing

Did Marvel's Blade Reboot Just Get an Official Release Date?

Did Marvel's Blade Reboot Just Get an Official Release Date?
We may finally know when Marvel's upcoming Blade reboot is going to arrive in theaters. This particular project was a surprise reveal last summer during Marvel Studios' massive Phase 4 presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. Few updates have been provided on the movie since it was announced, but it seems that the studio may have secured a rather appropriate release date for the daywalker's return to the silver screen.

Recently, Disney did quite a bit of shuffling around with its 2020/2021 release calendar. This provided new release dates for all of the announced Phase 4 movies, as well as some new dates for the already announced Phase 5 titles. Marvel updated its calendar through 2022 and they have a previously revealed date set aside on October 7, 2022, for a currently untitled movie. Charles Murphy, who has been surprisingly accurate with Marvel scoops in the past, took to Twitter to state that Blade will indeed be the title filling that particular slot.

Quentin Tarantino Wanted Laurence Fishburne for the ‘Luke Cage’ Movie He Never Made

Quentin Tarantino Wanted Laurence Fishburne for the ‘Luke Cage’ Movie He Never Made
Quentin Tarantino’s films have left a big mark on cinema, but the only thing that might be as wild as shooting Hitler in a burning theater or beating up the Manson family might be the movies he has not made… like a “Luke Cage” film with Laurence Fishburne.

This past week, Tarantino appeared on Amy Schumer’s podcast “3 Girls, 1 Keith,” and the conversation turned to an idea that came to him while working on “Pulp Fiction” — to make a movie about the first black superhero to get his own comic book. Tarantino said that he was a big comic book collector growing up and that Marvel’s “Luke Cage” was his favorite series, fitting considering Cage was created alongside the wave of blaxploitation films in the 1970s that the filmmaker has also expressed passion for.

So what killed the idea? Tarantino pins it on bickering with his “comic-geek friends,

Release Date For Marvel’s Blade Reboot Reportedly Revealed

Release Date For Marvel’s Blade Reboot Reportedly Revealed
Marvel’s Phase 4 has hit a major setback with the delay of Black Widow, but the studio has also used this opportunity to further flesh out their plans for the next few years of the McU. Simply put, every film is now being moved to its successor’s old release date, so Bw now occupies The Eternals‘ former November slot and so on. Plus, Captain Marvel 2 has been given an official due date – July 2022.

That’s the last movie on the schedule at present. But we might now have an idea of what’s coming up after that: Mahershala Ali’s Blade reboot.

Insider Charles Murphy has shared a new bit of info on social media. Outlining the following five Marvel Studios release dates already locked in, he’s apparently heard that the first one post-CM2 is Blade, with the horror-themed superhero flick potentially coming on October 7th, 2022. The other four dates are February 17th,

John Boyega Reportedly Eyed For Villainous Role In Blade Reboot

John Boyega Reportedly Eyed For Villainous Role In Blade Reboot
It’s been far too long since Blade last hunted on the big screen. Wesley Snipes’ take on the character and the original trilogy will always be fondly remembered and back when the project was just a rumor, it was theorized that Snipes could somehow appear as the McU’s version of the hero.

But then, in July 2019 during the Marvel Studios San Diego Comic-Con presentation, they announced a reboot and we learned that Mahershala Ali would be stepping into the vampire-hunting gear and going to town on whatever goes bump in the McU’s night. Since that moment, however, it’s been radio silence.

We did hear that Jon Watts wrote Blade into a very early draft of Spider-Man: Far From Home, but for now, the new movie has been quietly in development. It seems that things are about to pick up steam, though, as Marvel is looking to

Marvel Reportedly Plans To Race-Bend Major Character In Blade Reboot

Marvel Reportedly Plans To Race-Bend Major Character In Blade Reboot
Blade is on his way to the McU at last. Mahershala Ali was confirmed to be resurrecting the Daywalker on the big screen last summer, with the two time Oscar-winning actor taking over the iconic role made famous by Wesley Snipes in the original Blade trilogy of the late 90s/early 00s. The titular vampire hunter himself likely won’t be the only one from the old movies getting a revamp, though, so expect some very different versions of familiar characters.

In fact, We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Disney is developing a Beauty and the Beast spinoff for Gaston and Ahsoka Tano is going to appear in The Mandalorian season 2, both of which are now confirmed – that Deacon Frost will appear in the Blade reboot and will undergo a major change from previous versions. And that’s because the character,

The Dark Knight Trilogy Star Reportedly Eyed For Blade Reboot

The Dark Knight Trilogy Star Reportedly Eyed For Blade Reboot
The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have suffered a setback when the entire Phase Four slate was pushed back by several months in response to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn’t mean that Kevin Feige and his team have simply downed tools, with the brains behind the shared universe no doubt working feverishly behind the scenes to plan what happens next.

Phase Five is already beginning to take shape, with Captain Marvel 2 now officially joining Black Panther II in having a confirmed release date, and the third installments in both the Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy franchise expected to join them. One of the newcomers making their way to the McU though is Mahershala Ali’s Blade, and while it hasn’t been confirmed just yet, Phase Five seems like the most likely destination for the rebooted Daywalker to make his return.

Besides Ali himself, nobody else is

The Real Reason Quentin Tarantino Bailed on Making Marvel's Luke Cage Movie

The Real Reason Quentin Tarantino Bailed on Making Marvel's Luke Cage Movie
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is by one of the most successful movie franchises in history, though it does have its detractors, with some finding the movies the make up the series a little too similar to each other. Well, things could have been vastly different, as once upon a time, critically acclaimed auteur Quentin Tarantino had toyed with bringing Marvel superhero Luke Cage to the big screen himself.

"There was a time before all this Marvel shit was coming out. It was after Reservoir Dogs, it was before Pulp Fiction, and I had thought about doing Luke Cage. Growing up I was a big comic book collector, and my two favorite [comic books] were Luke Cage: Hero for Hire, later Luke Cage: Power Man, and Shang-Chi: Master of Kung Fu. I also liked Werewolf by Night, that was a great one, and Tomb of Dracula was great, but my absolute hero was Luke Cage.

Black Panther 2 Star Accidentally Reveals An Interesting Spoiler
Even though the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn’t even begun, folks can’t help but get excited for what comes after that. And we don’t blame them. Fans have been chomping at the bit for a sequel ever since Black Panther changed the film landscape in 2018 and with T’Challa’s solo effort shattering box office records on its way to multiple Oscar wins, it was really only a matter of time before one was announced. Sure enough, the very announcement came at D23 last year, and while details about the follow-up have been hard to come by, star Angela Bassett shared an interesting new spoiler this week. Deadpool Just Hilariously Referenced Ryan Reynolds’ Blade: Trinity Role

Deadpool Just Hilariously Referenced Ryan Reynolds’ Blade: Trinity Role
Ryan Reynolds may be killing it as Deadpool nowadays, but as we all know, his comic book movie career wasn’t always so successful. He initially played Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, possibly the worst entry in Fox’s X-franchise, and also starred as Hal Jordan in DC’s failed 2011 Green Lantern film. Of course, Reynolds has poked fun at himself in the Deadpool movies with references to both of these productions. But now, the Merc with a Mouth’s latest comic book appearance goes even further, and calls back to Reynolds’ debut turn in the superhero world that’s often overlooked.

Strikeforce #7, from writer Tini Howard and artist German Peralta, features a panel where Dp encounters vampire hunter Blade leading a bunch of superheroes in the sewers. The anti-hero gives the Daywalker a hilariously fourth-wall breaking welcome, commenting: “Been in any good movies lately? Last I saw, you

Black Panther 2’s Villain Has Reportedly Been Decided Upon

Black Panther 2’s Villain Has Reportedly Been Decided Upon
Marvel Studios may have mapped out their increasingly-ambitious plans for the McU on both the big screen and Disney Plus for Phase Four, but they’re playing their cards a lot closer to the chest for what happens next. Phase Five seems likely to include Captain Marvel 2, Ant-Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Deadpool 3, Blade and others, but the only movie to have an official release date so far is Black Panther 2, which is set to hit theaters in May 2022.

Ryan Coogler’s sequel is one of the most highly-anticipated projects on the McU’s horizon after the character’s solo debut captured the public imagination, earning over $1.3 billion at the box office and becoming the first comic book movie to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. There’s a lot of pressure on Black Panther 2 to hit the same heights as its predecessor then,

First New Marvel X-Men Crossover Revealed

First New Marvel X-Men Crossover Revealed
Marvel announced the first major crossover of Jonathan Hickman’s Dawn of X era of X-Men. X of Swords will tie all the X-titles together in a ’90s throwback, 15-part crossover touching every single book in the line.

“One of the cool things we are able to do now, because we’ve established the X-line and really know where we’re going, is that we’re able to try some different things out,” Hickman said in a statement. “X of Swords will be an old school crossover that meanders through the entire line. It’s almost like chapters of a story.”

Hickman, you’ll recall, reinvigorated the X-Men line with House of X and Powers of X. And like Powers of X, X of Swords is using the Roman numeral X as a sort of low-nerdy double entendre. Where Powers of X examined four time periods of exponential scales, X

‘Angels Fallen’ Review

‘Angels Fallen’ Review
Stars: Nicola Posener, Caroline Amiguet, Filareta Atanasova, Ivica Dimitrijevic, Scott Anthony Gould, Hailey Hermida, Li Jing, Lee Kholafai, William Legue, Michael Madsen, Eric Roberts, Tommy Nash, Ivy Natalia, Houston Rhines | Written by Amanda Barton | Directed by Ali Zamani

Action/fantasy horror can be very hit or miss. I have to say in general I quite enjoy it as a sub genre. Movies like the Underworld, Resident Evil and Blade franchises or Dracula Untold, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and The Last Witch Hunter are all pretty entertaining films. Don’t get me wrong, these aren’t ‘great’ movies but when kept at about ninety minutes, they’re an enjoyable and fun watch. So despite its awful title, this is what I expected from Angels Fallen.

It is clearly influenced by the movies mentioned above but does not have anywhere near the budget. A budget that it very much needs to pull off its ideas.

Venom 2 Reportedly Lost Its R-Rating Thanks To Birds Of Prey

Venom 2 Reportedly Lost Its R-Rating Thanks To Birds Of Prey
Remember in 2016 when the R-rated Deadpool became a phenomenon on its way to more than $800 million in worldwide box office receipts? We didn’t quite know it at the time, but that movie sort of broke the seal in establishing the potential success of an adult oriented superhero pic.

While it certainly wasn’t the first R-rated film in the genre (see: Blade or Spawn), it was the first in the comic book boom we currently reside in. And what followed? Well, the next year we got Logan, one of the greatest superhero movies ever made as well as a perfect send off for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Then it was the inevitable Deadpool 2 which came close to matching its predecessor at the box office. While not as good as the original, it was still entertaining enough to prove that audiences were not getting tired of the character.

Marvel Studios' "Blade"

Marvel Studios'
Actor Mahershala Ali will play superhero 'Eric Brooks', aka "Blade" the vampire slayer, in a part previously played by Wesley Snipes in 2 "Blade" features and Sticky Fingaz in the "Blade" TV series:

"...'Eric Brooks' was born in a whorehouse in the Soho neighborhood of London, England in 1929. His mother 'Tara Brooks', was a prostitute at Madame Vanity's Brothel. When Tara experienced severe labor complications, a doctor was summoned who was in actuality 'Deacon Frost,' a vampire who feasted on her during Eric's birth and killed her. However, this inadvertently passed along certain enzymes in his own blood to the infant. This resulted in Eric's 'quasi-vampiric' abilities, including a greatly prolonged lifespan and the ability to sense supernatural creatures, as well as an immunity to complete vampirism.

"Eric grew up living at Madame Vanity's, and at age nine, returning home from school one December, he saw an old man being attacked by three vampires.
