Trivia

Brutus was called Bluto in the original comic strip involving Popeye and earlier animated cartoons involving Popeye (during the years in which these animated cartoons (the ones for King Features) were made (1960 and 1961), certain producers of theirs thought Bluto had been created for the animated cartoons for Fleischer Studios and that they didn't have the rights to the character, so they renamed him Brutus (Bluto had actually appeared in a single adventure in the comic strip before any animated Popeye cartoons had been made (the name Bluto was used again for certain animated Popeye cartoons after 1961))). Not a bad cartoon series.
21 July 2018 | by OllieSuave-007See all my reviews

This is not a bad cartoon series, featuring Popeye the Sailor, who woos the skinny Olive Oyl while battling it out with his nemesis, Brutus. Definitely a cartoon that has dragged through the test of times, but a classic and somewhat funny one for the kids to enjoy. It makes eating spinach a delicacy.
