Dominik Diamond decided not to return for Series 3, and Dexter Fletcher replaced him. Gamesmaster: Episode #2.26 (1993) ends with a massive explosion on the oil rig set. On Gamesmaster: Episode #3.1 (1993), set in a prison, Fletcher says Diamond had "burnt himself out" in the oil rig disaster. Fletcher was unpopular with fans, and Diamond returned for Series 4.
