Storyline

In rural Sunrise, Illinois, waitress Linda Bronco wants her son Mike to go to college, but all summer after high school, his dim friend Lenny Lake leads Mike into trouble. Their life of crime soon involves Linda, too, as they need money for a lawyer (Lenny's charlatan grandpa Ron, whose trophy wife is the ex-girlfriend of Brian, Linda's latest lover). When Ron fails Mike, Linda decides to send Mike to private college, so she needs more money. After Brian gives them a tip on cash at Mr. Snack, a fast food joint, it's robbery time. Then there's Suzi and Suzy, young women who work at Mr. Snack and have their eyes on Mike and Lenny. Is there a ticket out of the trailer park? Written by <jhailey@hotmail.com>

User Reviews

IMDB waters the plants!
20 December 2001 | by nunculusSee all my reviews

Isn't it un-kosher for people involved in the making of a movie to

hype it by pretending to be "impartial reviewers"? If so, I direct your

attention to the Main Review listed for "Poor White Trash." Poor is

right; trash is right; white I can't really vouch for. The writer-director

Michael Addis seems to have watched BOTTLE ROCKET a lot,

plus a bit of RAISING ARIZONA, THE BIG LEBOWSKI, and a great

many bad comedies of the late-phase-Chevy-Chase variety. This

direct-to-video-ish yarn about two unintentionally criminal yokels,

their horny grandpappy (a finally openly Nicholson-imitating

William Devane), and their horny-making step-grandma (an openly

disgusted Jaime Pressley) suggests the movie Joel and Ethan

Coen would have made for Full Moon Entertainment...eleven

seconds before blowing each other's heads off.
