Riddick 4: Furya To Shoot In 2020, Will Return To Riddick’s Home World

Vin Diesel, after being rather fast and furious for the last few years, is going to be focusing more on the latter rather than the former in 2020. Why, might you ask, am I winding up for a lame joke? Well, because Riddick 4: Furya is happening kids, and we’re going back to his home planet of Furya – in case you couldn’t tell by the title.

Sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us a Black Widow 2 was being planned, which Scarlett Johansson all but confirmed yesterday, and who revealed that a Nova movie was in active development, which has been confirmed as well – say that the script for the fourth Riddick adventure has been completed (as Diesel himself told us a few months ago) and plans are to shoot the film in 2020. Furthermore, it’s expected that David Twohy will return to the director’s seat,

PBS’ Perry Simon Emphasizes Local Perspectives, Building Bridges to Younger Viewers

  • Variety
Since Perry Simon joined PBS a year ago, he has instituted a programming strategy that is tailored to the unique set of challenges that the public broadcaster faces in the evolving media world. He has also employed a fair number of silly references and acronyms. When PBS’ new programming chief says “Lol,” for instance, he’s talking about “leveraging our localism.” From the mouth of a PBS exec, it plays a bit like a hacky dad joke. But that’s the idea.

“When I got here, I felt that this place was frankly just too damn earnest,” Simon says with a laugh. “You know, like we’ve just got to lighten up here a bit, folks. PBS takes itself really seriously. So I’ve been trying to instill in the team here that it’s Ok to have some fun with our programming and introduce some lightness.” To that end,

Nova Will Reportedly Be Making His Big Marvel Cinematic Universe Debut in Phase 5

Marvel fans have been waiting patiently to finally see the classic character Nova make his debut in the McU. A few months ago it was reported that Marvel Studios has started developing a Nova film project. Now, McU Cosmic is reporting that the character will make his big arrival in Phase 5. The site reports:

According to very reliable sources, Nova appears to be one of the big characters planned for a Phase 5 debut alongside Blade, The Fantastic Four, and the Mutants. And from the sound of things, and how it’s been in development for a while, it could be relatively early in Phase 5 as well.

When previously talking about Nova potentially being introduced to the McU, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said:

Nova is… if we have a big board with a bunch of characters that have more immediate potential, Nova is on that board. Because of the connection to the Guardians universe,

Toronto Film Review: ‘Guns Akimbo’

  • Variety
Toronto Film Review: ‘Guns Akimbo’
“Have you learned nothing from video games?” asks one character during a momentary lull from noisy mayhem in “Guns Akimbo.” It’s the wrong question for this movie, whose makers have clearly learned from little else. Those wanting to kiss a few brain cells goodbye may enjoy this bombastic, crassly jokey action cartoon with Daniel Radcliffe as a dweeb who finds himself unpleasantly designated a new player in the unsimulated kill-or-die game he’s been watching online.

Jason Lei Howden’s Kiwi-German co-production should do a bit better than last year’s vaguely similar Tiff-premiering enterprise “Nekrotronic,” but it still seems primarily a streaming item.

Radcliffe’s Miles is a stereotypical 21st-century nerd living alone in an action-figure-crammed flat, whose only girlfriend is the ex he’s still stuck on (Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Nova), and who’s bullied by a frat-bro boss at his job working for a company

Marvel Reportedly Eyeing Christopher Nolan Actor To Play Nova

Fans have been expecting Nova to make his debut in the McU for a long time, but it finally feels like his arrival is due any movie now since Avengers: Infinity War explained that the Nova Corps were destroyed by Thanos off-screen. It looks like Richard Rider might be about to continue the Corps’ legacy, but who could play him when he finally makes his first cinematic appearance? Well, a new rumor may have given us a big clue as to who Marvel’s looking at for the role.

According to Tvo of Lords of the Long Box, Kevin Feige’s setting up a meeting with a 20-something actor who’s appeared in a Christopher Nolan movie. The topic of the meeting, we’re told, is Nova. We don’t know the identity of this young star, but CosmicBookNews has suggested a couple of possible contenders: Dunkirk‘s Harry Styles and Fionn Whitehead.

Avengers: Endgame Nova Easter Egg Is Fake News, Directors Admit It Was a Joke
You can put your remote down and get your finger off that pause button. While it seemed like there was a new Easter egg waiting to be found in Avengers: Endgame, it's fake news. The Russo Brothers confirmed earlier today that Nova makes his McU introduction in the blockbuster sequel. Though, they didn't fully divulged where he could be found. So fans went on the hunt. Now, the directors admit that they were just having some fun with fans, which isn't making a few folks very happy.

"That was actually a joke on our part."

In a new video for Wired Magazine where the brothers break down various fan questions, they seemingly confirmed that Nova is introduced in the big climactic end battle sequence where the dusted heroes return from the Snap. As the portals open, Nova was said to emerge from one of them, to help in the fight against Thanos.

Avengers: Endgame Director Says He Was Just Joking About The Nova Cameo

One of the more surprising revelations from Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo was the news that Nova is actually in the final battle scene with Thanos. The Easter Egg came out of a Twitter Q&a that raised the question of why the Nova Corps weren’t represented in the fight, only for the Russos to point out that Richard Rider himself appears as Nova in the background of a shot.

Cue Marvel fans scrambling to find the evidence within the digital/Blu-ray releases of the movie. Except, they’ll likely come up short, as Joe has now revealed that he was just joking. Yep, after setting the internet ablaze and sending fans off on a wild goose chase, the director has admitted that he was only kidding and Nova isn’t in the movie, after all.

But given that it took him a few hours to issue that update,

Russo Brothers Debunk Richard Rider’s Nova Was in ‘Avengers: Endgame’

  • The Wrap
During a Twitter Q&a session hosted by Wired on Monday, “Avengers: Endgame” director Joe Russo surprised fans when he said that Richard Rider’s Nova was in the huge battle scene in the film.

“Look closely at that scene again and you will see. You will see Richard Rider in the background of the shot. Easter egg,” Russo said.

Russo was responding to a tweet that was posted in May, a Twitter user, where a fan asked the “Endgame” directors, “How do you guys not have any Nova Corp member in a fight against Thanos?. Love the movie, but just boggles my mind. Didn’t even have to be Richard Rider.”

Avengers: Endgame Directors Reveal That Nova Had A Secret Cameo

During Avengers: Endgame‘s theatrical release, diehard fans pored over every inch of the movie across multiple screenings, taking in everything they could. Now, it’s hit home video, meaning that obsessives can go frame-by-frame through the busier sequences to pick out details that were on screen too briefly to focus on. After all this, you’d think Avengers: Endgame couldn’t hide any further secrets, yet directors Anthony and Joe Russo have just revealed a huge Easter egg that no one noticed: the debut of Nova.

The revelation came during a recent video they did in which the pair took questions from Twitter. The final one asked:

“How do you guys not have any Nova Corp member in a fight against Thanos? Love the movie but just boggles my mind. Didn’t even have to be Richard Rider.”

It’s a fair enough inquiry, and ordinarily, I’d presume

Marvel is Reportedly Developing Another Big Series For Disney+

It’s been officially announced that Marvel is currently developing four shows for Disney+, which include The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, and Hawkeye. These will all be part of Marvel Phase 4 story arc plans.

As you might imagine, these won’t be the only shows that Marvel is producing for Disney+, they also have a fifth phase that has been planned out and that will include more series. One of these shows will reportedly be revealed soon.

McU Cosmic reports that Marvel has “something big in active development for Disney+ that will be revealed soon. I don’t know how “soon” (such as if it’ll be at D23 Expo or not), but it’s coming.” The site doesn’t say what the series will be, but they do offer a few possibilities.

The possible shows mentioned in the report include Ms. Marvel and maybe a Hulk series.

Marvel Reportedly Has Plans For Galactus And Tyrant In The McU

Now that Marvel Studios has the rights back to Fantastic Four lore, fans are fully expecting two major characters to be introduced into the McU soon: Galactus and his heroic former Herald, the Silver Surfer. The latest report on the future of the franchise, however, says that, while the Devourer of Worlds will be making his debut soon, another one of his creations will be featured before Norrin Radd.

McU Cosmic writes that “at some point” Marvel will bring Galactus into the McU, as well as Tyrant. In contrast to the planet-eater and the Surfer, Tyrant is a much lesser-known property from the comics.

Hailing from the early 1990s, Tyrant was a being Galactus created in his image. However, his power-hungry nature caused him to rebel against his master. Galactus managed to exile him to deep space but, eons later, in the present, he returned to cause havoc for cosmic

Marvel Teases New Annihilation Event

Gavin Jasper Jul 19, 2019

The event that gave us the modern-day Guardians of the Galaxy is getting a new follow-up in November!

No one could have predicted how huge and important Marvel’s mid-'00s content would turn out in the long run. On Earth, Captain America and Iron Man were duking it out in Civil War. On Sakaar, Bruce Banner’s alter-ego was being reinvented and turned into a big deal once again in Planet Hulk. Everywhere else, Annihilus was causing trouble in Annihilation and a whole bunch of space heroes had to team up to stop him.

Those three stories were going on concurrently, and out of those series we got not only important ripples in Marvel’s comic universe, but Captain America: Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok, and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Needless to say, these are easily three of the most important Marvel storylines in the last fifteen years.

Marvel May Cast A Person Of Color As Nova In The McU

Marvel fans have been waiting for Nova to arrive in the McU ever since Guardians of the Galaxy introduced the Nova Corps back in 2014. Since then, we’ve had a few near misses. The hero was rumored to be in GotG Vol. 2 and then featured in early versions of Avengers: Infinity War. However, it’s looking like the wait is over as all signs point to the character debuting in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, likely before getting his own solo movie.

We Got This Covered has also learned one way in which Nova may be reinterpreted for the big screen. Our source informs us that Marvel might cast a person of color as Richard Rider in the franchise. We’ve been told this decision could be made in order to avoid a backlash against the studio delivering yet another leading white male superhero. However, the important word here is “might,

Spider-Man: Far From Home Featured A Fun Nova Easter Egg

Spider-Man: Far From Home sets up the future of the McU in a number of ways. The post-credits scenes, for example, teased a very different status quo for Peter Parker to come in Spider-Man 3 as well as a presumed hint at the contents of Captain Marvel 2. One easily-missed easter egg may also have reminded us that a Nova movie is on the way, likely in Phase Four.

When Peter is on the flight to Europe, he browses the in-flight entertainment to find something to watch, though he becomes emotional when he happens upon a Tony Stark documentary. Those with eagle-eyes, however, may have noticed the mock-posters for fake films that Peter could have chosen. The titles all refer to elements of the McU, including The Snap, Finding Wakanda and Hunting Hydra. But the most interesting one has to be Nova.

Wait a second, though. This doesn’t mean that

Nova’s Role In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Will Set Up His Solo Movie

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has a lot on its plate. As well as wrapping up the story of Star-Lord and his friends, we’ve also heard that it’ll introduce many fan favorite characters from the comics into the McU for the first time. For instance, Moondragon, Beta Ray Bill and Adam Warlock. One who could be significant to the future of the franchise, though, is Nova, who new intel says could be spun off into his own movie.

Reddit user TheMarvelScoopMaster previously claimed that Nova would debut in Vol. 3. Now, the Redditor is saying that the character’s role will set up a Nova film that’s coming sooner than you think. Apparently, it could be with us by May 2022.

“I’d probably put Nova in the May 6, 2022 spot as I’ve been hearing they’re going to introduce him in Gotg 3 and spin him off in his own film.

Nova Was Originally Supposed To Appear In Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel that’s currently breaking box office records left, right and center, Avengers: Endgame, brought together every single hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, despite the many theories and rumors that argued otherwise, neither movie ended up introducing any new heroes we hadn’t met before. That wasn’t always the case, though, as it turns out Nova featured in early versions of the storyline.

Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about their initial plans for the epic two-parter event that brought the Infinity Saga to a close and one of the juiciest reveals was that Nova would have appeared at the beginning of Infinity War, taking Hulk’s place as the character that warns Doctor Strange that Thanos is on his way.

“I remember going through several scenarios of Nova. Thanos could come and kill all the Nova Corps,
