Storyline
An English version of "Rechov Sumsum" (1983) released as a mini-series on PBS and as a video series. Instead of Big Bird, we have a big porcupine named Kippi and a brown grouch named Oofnick who is Oscar's cousin. The show teaches children about the areas throughout Israel and about the Jewish holidays like Chanunakah. The second wave of episodes, aired in 1992, used more of a variety format (except for the Passover episode) while still teaching about Judaism. Every episode contains a guest appearance, including 3 by Oscar the Grouch.

Trivia
This show aired in 2 different times. A set of episodes aired on PBS as a mini-series for one week in 1987. Then the show was released on home video by Sisu Home Entertainment (instead of Random House Home Video, that distributed all other Sesame Street videos). Then, a second wave of episodes aired in 1992 the same way, airing on PBS for a week and then being released on VHS.
