Because of the poor English translation most of the game received many people believed, incorrectly, that Sigma's dialog near the end was also a result of poor translation. The game itself points out that it is due to Sigma being in an unfinished state, Sigma has messy dialog in the Japanese version too. See more »

In the opening credits, it is stated that the game takes place three weeks after the events of MegaManX5. However, at the end of MegaManX5 (X's ending) the story denotes the first stage of MegaManX6 to occur three years after the defeat of Sigma. See more »

User Reviews

Good, but rather disapointing.
28 November 2002 | by dootussSee all my reviews

When I heard that Capcom was making another "Mega Man X" game, I had EXTREMELY high hopes that it would best "Mega Man X5" (just like X5 besting X4). I decided to rent it just to try it before attempting to purchase it. Sadly, I was disapointed.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good "Mega Man X" game, but there are some flaws. First off the story: It's rather stupid, and this game is easily the toughest of the "X" series hands down (I had trouble getting past the first level). The object of the game is somewhat different in a way, but I'm not to crazy for it. However, this game once again features new armor (which is cool by the way), as well as a Reploid-Rescue power up system, as well as a Ranking system. X can also use Zero's sword in this game too (since Zero is kidnapped), which I think is a another goodie for this game, but still even with the bright spots, It's still a disapointment of a game.

The game itself is OK. Although Capcom should've given a LOT of time, and care to make this game better than it was in its current status. This installment was released only a couple months after "X5" was released. Obviously, Capcom rushed it, which of course is never a good thing, and has never been in the Video Game industry (for instance look at the Atari VCS version of "Pac-Man", or "E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial", and you'll know what I mean) from day one. Still, it's probably worth trying out, but you may be a bit disapointed like me.
