Storyline

In the heart of America, an average Joe decides to run for congress on a third party ticket. The only problem, he is running against Congressman Dick Gephardt and has no campaign war chest. A satirical look at American democracy from an immigrant's perspective portrays why third parties have not and will not gain a foothold. And why some people are better off sticking with their day job instead of running for office. Written by Srikant Chellappa

Hilarious!
1 June 2004 | by krgalloSee all my reviews

This movie will make you laugh and it will make you think. I loved all the quirky characters (real people!). It's funny how most people want more and better choices on their voting ballot, but few actually vote for these outsiders. Maybe Mike Steger isn't super polished and Digger Ramano has dreds - so what?! Imagine if these kinds of everyday people actually started getting elected. How entertaining politics would be! Instead of the same ole boring suit with the slick soundbite and the polished smile, we could have wackiness and hijinks and maybe some real change in the process. I enjoyed this movie and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to use their brain - even if only occasionally.
