A busy attorney, worried that his anorexic daughter Olga might try to harm herself, since she's still grieving over her recently deceased mother, sends her to see a psychiatrist, Anna, who's dealing with her own loss in an unusual way.
eva - a beautiful young woman, is living with her parents and is pregnant, without a husband. after her money is stolen by a junkie on the way to have an abortion, she learns that embryos in the womb can hear, especially the mother's voice. this becomes the pivot around which the world is revealed to the viewers through eva's eyes.
the viewer also gets acquainted with eva's two new friends - michal, the junkie, and a good hearted whore. each of them influences eva's view of the world in a different direction - in what seems to be a battle between eva's bright eyes and a gloomy world. another memorable character is eva's father - a charming character beautifully acted.
to top the moving story the photography is excellent, very colorful and creative - both indoors and outdoors - with some very nice polish countryside.
