Tom Petty tells his tales
20 October 2005 | by ebiros2See all my reviews

This is a one hour program on Tom Petty and his career as rock guitarist told by himself. If you're a Tom Petty fan this program is a treat. Tom tells his story as a boy growing up, he got influenced by the music of the Beatles and decided to make music his career. His father told him to go to college as a back up plan, but he was determined that there would be no back up plan but to live as musician.

Petty is diverse in his career. He has his own band the Heart Breakers, but also traveled with Roy Orbison, George Harrison, and Bob Dylan in the Traveling Willberrys, and also did a duet album with Stevie Nicks. He talks about his experience he had with these artists and provides a precious informations about rock history that only he can provide.

I only wish he'd talked more about his craft and how he did his albums, but for an hour you will be entertained if you like music and Tom Petty.
