'War of the Worlds': Production Diaries, West Coast - War (2005)

*** (out of 4)

The fourth and final segment in the "video diary" from Laurent Bouzereau on the making of Steven Spielberg's WAR OF THE WORLDS. This episode clocks in at close to 20-minutes and features several key scenes being shot including the action sequence on the hill. If you've made it to this fourth episode then you're well over a hour worth of your time not to mention the other featurettes, which were also over a hour. There's certainly some great stuff here and especially the behind-the-scenes look at Spielberg directing various scenes. These moments here are certainly the highlight of the picture. It's also fun just getting to see the cast having some fun while not working. Fans of the movie will certainly be entertained by this four-part series and especially since it gives you a great idea of what it's like to film a movie.
