The Reverend Mother hires Paola Guzman as her temporary secretary. Paola, full of Latin flair with a penchant to do the bossa nova, is a bit at odds with the staunch Reverend Mother's style, but Paola is admittedly an efficient secretary with a kind heart. The Reverend Mother is just about to let Paola go when Paola shows up at the convent with a 6-month old child named Anita. Paola states that she is looking after Anita for a single mother friend (her husband passed away) who is away in the States looking for a job. Paola was hoping to stay at the convent while she looks after the child. The sisters think Anita is actually Paola's child, especially since the story is much like a movie Sister Sixto saw recently on television. As such, the Reverend Mother allows Paola and Anita to take refuge at the convent, and lets Paola keep her job. However through Carlos, Sister Bertrille learns that Paola was once married to Lorenzo Guzman, from whom she got an annulment due to his gambling ways.... Written by Huggo
Paola Guzman (Chelsea Brown, "Laugh-In") has been sent by an employment agency to the convent as a temporary secretary for the Reverend Mother. She is a poor fit as a secretary, spending most of her time doing the bossa nova and talking with boyfriends on the phone. The Reverend Mother decides to fire her, but reconsiders when Paola shows up with a baby, claiming it belongs to her best friend who has abandoned her. The Reverend Mother and Sisters Sixto and Jacqueline suspect the child is actually Paola's and spy to find the truth. Sister Bertrille feels Carlos is the father when she says "it is all his fault". Carlos explains that Paola has a husband named Lorenzo (Carl Byrd) who is a house painter, and Sister Bertrille brings him to the convent to force a talk with Paola.
A terrible script and message.
