Bill and Winifred are having their troubles together, she wants more than he can provide. She pushes his buttons and he responds by slapping her. Winnie is also fighting with her step-father. When she is found stabbed to death the next day, Bill is the immediate suspect when his knife and footprint are found at the scene. Bill's sister, Mary, is a friend of Gideon's daughter and she asks Gideon to investigate. Gideon is suspicious and sends Keen out to question the witnesses, where several inconsistencies come to light. Then Mary does her own investigating, uncovering more evidence. Written by jem
