Trivia

Kaitlin Olson's audition scene for the series was her reading Dennis' part from the opening scene of "Charlie Has Cancer." Olson later said she didn't realize it wasn't the actual dialog for her character and was disappointed that she didn't get to do the scene on the show. See more »

Quotes

Dee Reynolds: Dennis, maybe you need to rethink this whole plan of yours. I don't think getting Charlie laid is going to help his cancer problem.
Dennis Reynolds: Whatever.
Mac: Dennis, I think I found the perfect girl for Charlie! Smart, beautiful, the whole thing.
Dennis Reynolds: Where?
Mac: Right there.
Dennis Reynolds: Over there by the pool table?
Mac: Yeah. Nice.
Dennis Reynolds: That's great, Mac.
Dee Reynolds: Good work, Mac.
Dennis Reynolds: That's a dude.

The weakest episode of Season 1
20 August 2019 | by yavermbiziSee all my reviews

My overall rating of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"'s Season 1: 6/10

This episode has very few redeeming moments. Too many scenes are just not funny, with only a few exceptions (ex. Mac's interaction with the transgender guy or Dennis repeatedly prioritising carnal lures over helping his friend). Really, no singular plotline is entirely solid on its own, and so the whole things ends up disappointing.
