Kojak gets rebuffed
26 February 2013 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

In this the first part of a two part Kojak episode Geraldine Page plays a wealthy widow who may have been modeled on Pamela Harriman. She's a powerbroker and she's grooming a hotshot Assistant District Attorney Charles Kimbrough for bigger and better things. This is a woman who will do anything to protect her investment and that includes a lot of illegal things. The ambitious Kimbrough may cut a few corners himself.

At the beginning of the episode it's established Kojak doesn't like Kimbrough's methods and then happens to be present when a young man tries to shoot Kimbrough and is turn shot down by a uniform officer on the courthouse steps. His last words were to Telly Savalas about a case Kimbrough prosecuted.

That arouses Kojak's curiosity, but his inquiries are rebuffed at every turn and the DA's office closes ranks behind Kimbrough. All this being managed by the off stage puppet master Page.

This episode left me wanting more and hopefully I'll see tomorrow's to see just what Kimbrough is so afraid of.
