Slim Sherman arrives in Laramie to buy supplies and finds the town pretty much empty, due to rumors of a gold strike in Cherry Creek. Slim's arrival coincides with Tom Bedloe and his gang who started the rumor of the gold strike. With only a few women left in town, Bedloe has them locked in the jail for everyone's protection. Unable to get help and outnumbered, Slim has to play criminal in order stay alive and free. It's a desperate gamble since Tom Bedloe has another agenda, he's looking for the daughter he's never seen. He lived in Laramie before going to prison leaving a pregnant wife who died when his baby girl was born. Bedloe has all the 20-22 year old women brought to him to find his daughter. Complicating Slim's plan is Duke, Bedloe's right hand man, who distrusts Slim and his story. When his cover is blown it will cost Slim his life until Bedloe's daughter reveals herself to save him and her brother from her adoptive parents. Written by DarSpi

Fool's rumored gold
24 March 2017 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

When Slim Sherman has to run into Laramie for some needed supplies he finds a town with only a few women left. The men took off for a rumored gold strike. But it's a rumor spread by outlaw Rod Cameron who wants to rob the bank. I'm surprised that's a tactic not more often used.

But Cameron has something else on the agenda. Years before he had a wife that lived in Laramie and he's also looking to find a daughter he's never met. Saloon girl Sandra Knight would like to be her.

John Smith stays alive only by pretending to be a prisoner in the jail. But that ruse only works for a bit. Cameron's a very shrewd article. Quite frankly it's only dumb luck that makes him lose.

Cameron's great performance makes this episode worth while.
