An enemy agent's kidnapped 2 scientists and their wives and is holding them in San Francisco. He wants a third scientist, who can help develop an ultimate weapon. Phelps devises a plan where he'll pose as the scientist being sought, whilst the rest of the IM force fakes an earthquake.

After Jim crushes the light bulb in the flashlight (at around the 40:24 mark), the electrical wire that was pulled by "Ed" is clearly a single-strand wire. Jim says to "lead the wire back to the cell" but at the 41:41 mark, the wires are multi-stranded (it's very obvious, as it's a close-up, to show the spark). See more
