Herman comes home with a violent case of the hiccups after a scary movie at the drive-in. Grandpa attempts to cure his son-in-law by putting him under a hypnotic spell. That night, two freshmen (one is Ken Osmond best known as Eddie Haskell on Leave it to Beaver) enter the Munsters' home on a fraternity pledge dare, thinking it to be abandoned. Mistaking the frozen Herman for an elaborate dummy, they sneak him out of the house to leave him at the Alpha Kappa Sorority as a prank. Herman awakes from his trance in a girl's closet at the sorority house, but escapes by jumping out the window after Grandpa rescues him. Written by The TV Archaeologist

Did You Know?

Michael Blodgett (Jim) was cast in the TV Movie Meet Me in St. Louis (1966), a pilot for a series based on the original 1944 MGM film. It was a non-musical version starring Shelley Fabares in the role of Esther, previously played by Judy Garland. Unfortunately, no network picked up the project as a series. See more »

My Favorite
22 November 2016 | by Terry59See all my reviews

I'm not even a very big fan of The Munsters as I'm middle-aged and one can tell - that even though there's some laughs now and then that only an adult can appreciate - this series was made for the younger crowd. When I was a kid my favorite character was, of course...Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster. But at my age I now enjoy the sexy Yvonne DeCarlo as Lily. Having now said why I'm not a big fan - but why I'm still...a fan - this is my favorite of all episodes of The Munsters. Why is this my favorite? A guest star is Ken Osmond. Leave It To Beaver fans will instantly remember him as Eddie Haskell...and he's now college-age. He plays a character similar to Haskell, at least as far as deep-seated fears and insecurities go. Here he's part of a college sorority initiation. But I got the most laughs from the scene with Grandpa casting The Transylvanian Brain Freezer on Herman in the dungeon. Watch for it...Absolutely hilarious! As good as this episode was, I would've given it a 10 if the story line were a little more substantial and the laughs were throughout the entire half-hour. But as it is, this one is still definitely worth viewing.
