Stars Of Gomer Pyle And Bonanza Are In This One
20 February 2019 | by Jimmy_the_Gent4See all my reviews

Singer Country Marc Rogers is in town for a telethon and Webster and Gillis are assigned to guard him. It turns out he is marked for murder by Corley and TJ, a pair of vengeful country boys.

One of the best of Season 2. Corley is played by Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle himself) and he is excellent, too bad he didn't get a chance to do more dramatic roles. David Canary (Candy on "Bonanza") plays his brother TJ. It seems the brothers are looking to kill Rogers (Billy Green Bush, he was in "Five Easy Pieces) because they believe he impregnated their teenage sister who died in childbirth. Rogers sings a snippet of a song on the telethon, it is "Lightning Express" which was popularized by the Everly Brothers.
