When the train hears gunfire, the men find an Army wagon being attacked by what appear to be Comanche Indians. The Army is escorting the daughter of an Indian Chief back with a peace treaty offer from Washington. The Major sends Flint with the three remaining soldiers to help guide them. Flint is forced to fend off attempts by one of Army men to molest the girl and he recognizes that Lt. Avery leading the group does not have the best of intentions. Despite Flint's best efforts, the group is attacked by Indians who are not Comanche but renegade members of the girl's tribe who do not want her to return or a treaty. Once they reach the Indian camp, Flint learns that Avery's folks were killed by the Chief but his attitude has soften due to the girl's attitude toward him.
