Storyline

Josh Randall has been asked by his friend Sheriff Hank Bedloe to come and meet him secretly in the hotel at Sand Rock. Josh arrives finding an unfriendly crowd in town. One of the men challenges Josh asking if he is looking for Sheriff Bedloe as is the rest of the town. Josh brushes him off to go to Bedloe's room where he finds Bedloe with outlaw Gabe Justin tied up. Gabe says he and Ted Jenks were the ones who held up the bank and murdered a bank clerk. Bedloe wants Josh to go to the outlaw town Bent Fork to bring Jenks back to stand trial. Josh initially doesn't want to go but grudgingly agrees to take on the job. He makes his way to the saloon in Bent Fork where he asks about Jenks but the men there are tight lipped. He eventually finds Jenks and starts back with him although Jenks protests that he is innocent. On the trail they are followed making the trip dangerous as Josh pushes on. Written by Anonymous

Quotes

Ted Jenks: Bounty hunting. How did you happen to get into it?
Josh Randall: Just happened. Working in a bank back home. One day I looked out at a customer and it hit me - I was living in a jail. Quit that afternoon.
Ted Jenks: Is it a good living?
Josh Randall: It could be. I don't want to work that hard. As long as I got a handful of beans and the makin', that's all I need.

Best Episode So Far
22 August 2006 | by ccthemovieman-1See all my reviews

Josh is hired by an old friend, "Hank Bedloe," the sheriff at Sand Rock, to find the partner of a bank robber he just captured. In the robbery, a town man was killed and the town is out for blood, nearing riot status. In order to prevent that, the sheriff is holed up in a secret room with the crook so that the riot won't ensue. Randall is the only one he can trust to find that other 'partner in crime' while he stays protecting his suspect.

Josh is sent to "Bent Horn," an extremely lawless town, a town full of bad men to find that one. Knowing the reputation of the town, our hero is reluctant to go but owes the sheriff a favor, so he goes. There, he not only encounters the hostile town but his suspect ("Ted Jenks") AND the revengeful brother of the man killed back at Sand Rock. Trying to bring "Jenks" back turns out to be a quite an ordeal with a surprise ending that leaves Josh Randall very shook.

As you can tell, this episode is full of action and suspense, perhaps the best I've seen so far in the first 11 editions of this first season. Josh's final comment in here is quite telling, too - something you would never hear on television today.
