You're the genius, and I just carry your water, right?

Goren has just been suspended, guilty of doing things on his own in the Tate prison upstate. He's standing in a lousy bar drinking alone while a cop who has just lost his job confronted him. Another suspended cop took his defense and they become partner as bouncers in several nightclubs, all owned by the same mobster (Danny Mastrogiorgio). Meanwhile, Eames deal with a drug dealer murder together with her temporary partner, the Brooklyn raised Det. Daniels. During the investigation, it turned out the crime is related to Goren's boss, so Ross involves the detective in an uncover operation that could enable him to get his badge back. Anyway Goren decide not to drag his former partner in, not answering any of Eames' call. His need to be back on track could torn their relationship forever.

The Goren look at the beginning is sad: he put on weight and he forgets shaving beard, a classic world-weary character. At the end he feels relieved, but he comes across new dangerous enemies.
