The Death of Alfalfa

E! Mysteries & Scandals" Alfalfa and the Gang (1999)

Richard Bann (author), Tommy Bond, Sidney Kibrick, Jerry Tucker, George Sidney, Jim Parish (author), Marvin Wolf (author) are interviewed as they discuss the death of Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer as well as other curses from the Our Gang series.

Since the time this episode was made there have been quite a few documentaries that have taken a look at the various issues that haunted several members of the Our Gang kids. This episode mainly focuses on Switzer, his violent temper and how this eventually led to his death. Fans of Our Gang or just this series will certainly enjoy hearing these stories as the episode does a very good job at showing what happened with this crew and why many feel that the series was cursed. The interviews with the Our Gang crew were a lot of fun but it was also great getting to hear from Sidney who directed several of the shorts.
