Storyline

Dennis Day's indefatigable grandfather comes for a visit from Ireland and soon exhaust's Dennis' friends with his relentless energy. When he can't rouse Dennis, Charley and Barbara for another round of dancing and merriment, he heads downtown and breaks his glasses pursuing a young woman a third of his age. A gangster making a payoff to a crooked politician spots the old man starring at him, not realizing he's almost blind without his spectacles and lures him to his penthouse with the promise of a party with the intention of bumping him off at the end of the festivities.
