Tailor to Hollywood's A-list, and a superstar in his own right, Ozwald Boateng is a dynamic force of energy, passion and colour. 1998: already celebrated as one of the most talented menswear designers in the world, Ozwald Boateng is about to go bankrupt and divorce his first wife. Through luck and circumstance director Varon Bonicos is able to switch on a camera. It continues to roll for the next twelve years. What emerges is a groundbreaking film that takes us on an exhilarating behind-the-scenes ride into the world of high fashion with one of one of the most influential menswear designers of his generation. Ending in 2010 when Boateng closes London Fashion Week with the biggest menswear show in history, Bonicos is able to get behind the headlines and chart Boateng's singular dream to succeed. Instinctive, flawed and generous, A Man's Story goes to the very heart of what Boateng has spent an entire career trying to distil: "what it is to be a man." Written by Trinity Filmed Entertainment

Varon Bonicos genius director. Ozwald Boateng amazing subject.

A Man's Story. This was a great documentary film and really fantastic to find out afterwards that the director Varon Bonicos filmed for a full 12 years. I absolutely recommend this film to anyone who needs a shot of hope, or faith or passion in their lives . I found myself watching this film and thinking about what went right and wrong in my life. Also found myself checking style in all areas of my life. I was so surprised to see so many stars particularly enjoyed Will Smith and the Queen of England. How do you get those people into a documentary.

As a film student this documentary represents everything that I am currently studying ,and even trying to emulate. The style and pace of the film was a sensation and edit was like butter. The 12 years slipped by. I just wish i knew what has happening now and waiting for part 2. Waiting for Varon Bonicos next film and saving to buy an Ozwald Boateng suit. Congratulations to all involved in this masterpiece.
