Snowpiercer TV Show Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Story, and News
Snowpiercer, TNT’s upcoming hour-long TV show will adapt newly Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 South Korean dystopian sci-fi film of the same name. The Snowpiercer TV show will be headlined by an Oscar winner in Jennifer Connelly, who is joined by Hamilton stage standout Daveed Diggs. Plus, Doctor Strange helmer Scott Derrickson directed the pilot (sans reshoots). With Snowpiercer’s uniquely stylized dystopian premise, coupled with its overt political themes of class division, there will certainly be much with which to work when it comes to a prospective ongoing television series. TNT has ordered the project to series, although it always seemed likely, as they had backup scripts ready to go when they first ordered the pilot to production. Snowpiercer is a production of Tomorrow Studios via executive producers Mary Adelstein and Becky Clements and Turner’s Studio T.

Finale Footage Not Found: Inside TV’s New Normal — TV Podcast
On the surface, it looked like a typical Tuesday night on Twitter. There was less sports chat, of course, and the political conversations were more single-minded than usual, but for the most part, things proceeded apace. Which is to say, the Season 4 finale of NBC’s celebrated weepie “This Is Us” remained top of mind for many a TV fan, all of whom seemed to have a take on elements of the episode. Whether it was raging about a big fight or marveling over a character reveal, for a moment all was right with the world.

But soon enough the bubble burst and things returned to the still tentative new normal of the last few weeks. Too soon, both broadcast and cable TV will have to deal with the very real fallout of an industry shutdown: a lack of new material.

The Platform Review

The Platform Review
You can add Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia’s The Platform to the universe’s ever-growing list of directorial debuts that showcase anything but novice skill sets. As Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer and Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise so exquisitely pull the curtain back on humanity’s cruelest impulses, Urrutia embraces dystopian monstrosity through elementary necessities. Homo sapiens are courteous beings when benefits are personal and stakes are lowest, but thrust into survival desperation? Writers David Desola and Pedro Rivero obscure mealtime fulfillment with selfishness, vulgarity, brutality, and – most importantly – a suggestion that your neighbors would rip one’s heart out if it meant another day alive. Urrutia, fiercely, is an architect of horrific immorality with the calmest demeanor.

In an alternate future, everyman Goreng (Ivan Massagué) enrolls himself in a research project with vague descriptions. Isolation is promised, he’s allowed one item (a Don Quixote novel), and he’ll be sharing quarters with an unnamed companion.

The Platform review – fiendish Netflix thriller about a gory battle for food
In this gruesomely effective Spanish fable, people are placed on rotating levels with different amounts to eat, leading to madness and horror

There’s an ingenious idea at the dark heart of the Netflix-acquired Spanish thriller The Platform, slithering online just in time to make certain viewers feel extra guilty for ram-raiding their local supermarkets this past week. It’s a devilish recipe, cooked up from portions of Cube, Saw and Snowpiercer yet with a pungency all of its own, offering those locked away at home a bleak, timely reminder of the need for solidarity and the importance of the collective over the individual – or the grim consequences that might follow.
