Much of the film was shot at the Tudor-style getaway "The Glen Tavern Inn" in Santa Paula, California. Ironically, the hotel's motto is "Where the Past Comes to Life," with the dead reportedly maintaining a vivid presence at the Inn. The Glen Tavern is a favorite of paranormal aficionados who claim it is one of the most haunted venues in the region, and in July 2007, the Ventura Paranormal Society held its annual convention there. Ghost anecdotes abound as believers in the uncanny report encounters with long expired guests who for unknown reasons prefer to extend their stays indefinitely. The Glen Tavern Inn regularly hosts paranormal conferences, and also serves as the headquarters for The American Paranormal Research Association (A.P.R.A). Quite a fitting set for a film about an avenging archangel!
In 2013, the inn was featured on an episode of Ghost Adventures with special guests Brit Morgan and Mimi Page. See more »

This was just an unabashed entertainment from start to finish. Didn't take itself too seriously, combining some familiar horror genre elements (spooky hotel, supernatural monster)with some really cool neo-noir crime thriller twists. Loved how it blended the two genres into a kind of supernatural thriller with an edge.
Great cast, which is rarely the case in these kind of films. Trejo is awesome as always, Jones and Busey both hoots, plus some solid fresh faces as well.
Really enjoyed this and would recommend it to anyone looking for an unpredictable, fun scary movie.
