Chef Robert Holt is stabbed to death following the launch of his restaurant Le Calmar. His phone and money are missing but not an expensive watch and initially robbery is suspected. His partner Anouk, son Matt, sous chef Dexter and pastry chef Kim all claim to have been in their villa at the time and only his brother Gary, a bankrupt and ex-prisoner has no alibi. A street urchin picked up the phone which he says Robert dropped whilst arguing with Matt and indeed Matt, Dexter, Kim and Anouk all claim that the victim was a bully who controlled all their lives. To solve the murder and a possible conspiracy Goodman is much helped by footage illegally filmed by a customer on the opening night of the restaurant. Written by don @ minifie-1

A Chef opens up a resturant on Saint Marie
16 February 2019 | by ctyankee1See all my reviews

This is about a chef and a new bunch of employees that don't know each other or the boss to well. The boss Robert is found stabbed to death in the refrigerator of the restaurant.

The employees all dislike the chef some know him a little longer. Robert Holt the chef has a son that works for him. Anouk is the chefs girlfriend played by Tara Fitzgerald. The more I watch these episodes over the is a underlying promotion of homosexuality which I don't agree with. In this episode Dexter who is married goes to a gay bar with the rainbow colors on the front a lot.He is married and does not want his wife to know. Florence and Humphrey don't mention at the end of the story that he is gay or tell his wife like they do to other suspects their mates secrets.

In another episode Posing in Murder Sadie is a lesbian and is in love with the murdered woman that is not gay but they are both models. The police question her and are very careful about the terms they use no gay, lesbian etc. but they police would question married strait cheaters with a lot of question in front of the husband or wives..

Tara Fitzgerald who plays a lesbian in a Agatha Christie episode kissing a woman lips also plays a lesbian in another movie kissing a woman passionately. This is not an act.

I always like this series, the characters and the scenery now i am starting to see the hidden things they are like sympathy for homosexuals and love. They don't put these gays as killers. I also see how they put women in outfits and bathing suits that show a lot of flesh.

So I am guessing the producers are the ones putting female flesh in the lime light and sympathy for gays male and female and maybe their are gays creating this series.

The killers are usually male and straight. This story has a surprise ending. This mystery is okay, I like Poole, and Mooney better as the head cops. Goodman does more dragged out stupid things then the others do. JP is always polite and funny and Dwayne talks to much and is to bossy. So make your own decision.
