BELOW HER MOUTH is a bold, uninhibited drama that begins with a passionate weekend affair between two women. Dallas, a roofer and Jasmine, a fashion editor, share a powerful and immediate connection that inevitably derails both of their lives.
Shooting locations included Toronto's Centre Island, Old Brewery Lane in Queen Street East & River Street (for Jasmine's and Dallas' respective residences), Smith on Church Street (club where Jasmine and Dallas first meet), the Filmores Hotel, and Dundas Video (where they meet for a "one drink" first date). In Toronto it is illegal to wander in the street with any alcoholic beverage let alone walk in to an establishment with an open container (The establishment could have its liquor licence revoked for this infraction). The camera follows Dallas across Dundas Street and into Filmores Hotel passing a bouncer while she is carrying a bottle in her right hand. See more »
What makes this film special is the choreography that is shown in an exceptionally stimulating way. It shows great craftsmanship to film a fantastic sensuality with limited resources. The story is not very special and the dialogues might have had a little more poetic power. But what excels the film in portraying the attraction that both players have towards each other. It has been a long time since I saw a movie that could be so exciting. This is far from being porn. This is top-level sensuality and this movie can compete with 9.5 Weeks and Fatal Attraction.
