This terrific five-part "Making Of" documentary. Segments include "Destiny" (the development of the story, Iceland shoot and the film's practical sets), "Voyage" (the inspiration, design and implementation of the Bubbleship), "Combat" (a look at the action and stunts), "Illusion" (visual effects), and "Harmony" (Oblivion's music).
I don't understand why they divided this making of, approaching it on several aspects if they could show it gathered in just one, maybe to fill the screen with bonus material, but each one had few minutes length, the concept of the picture was made on two sources, Omega Man's Charlton Heston and Silent Running's Bruce Dern and also a graphic magazine, the project was took to the producers, introducing to Tom Cruise the whole concept he quickly accepted, due since Minority Report he no longer made any Sci-Fi picture, the director Joseph Kosinski developed by yourself all production, choosen a fabulous place at Iceland to external scenes, how they design the Bubbleship, the score, and the casting, I found myself intrigued why not a single word from Morgan Freeman and any interview of him appears on making of, maybe something gone wrong there between the director and him!!
