Trivia

In the conversation Bash's mother is having at the party, she makes reference to keeping control of the senate and doing well in the US House elections of 1986. That year, the Republicans lost 8 senate seats and control of the senate. They also lost 5 house seats. It wouldn't be until 1994 that the Republican Party would win control of both houses of Congress for the first time since 1954. See more »

Quotes

Birdie: Well, I believe in 1986, we're not only gonna keep control of the Senate, we're gonna break that liberal choke hold on the House too.
Bash: You see, Birdie? 'The liberal choke hold.' You do like wrestling.
Birdie: Ah. Hello, sweetheart. Aw. Ooh, you smell nice.
[Birdie looks at Debbie]
Debbie Eagan: I'm Debbie Eagan. I'm a friend of Bash's.
Birdie: Oh. You certainly wear a lot of makeup.
Debbie Eagan: Oh, thank you.
[nervous look on Debbie's face]

Oh Those Evil Republicans
2 November 2019 | by TheFearmakersSee all my reviews

Bash's mother is conservative so she's not only evil, but is threatening to end the show. Both shows, since this is a show about a show. Not a bad episode, but the title actually fits Hollywood since... Hollywood began, and when it seeps into otherwise good shows for everyone, it's annoying.
