Storyline

Lady Felicia's former chauffeur Sid Carter is released from prison, swearing vengeance on Giles Foster, his defending barrister whom he believes deliberately suppressed evidence, so that he is the prime suspect when Foster is murdered. Father Brown is convinced the alleged victim was bribed to protect the real culprit and his suspicions are increased when a hitman tries to kill him. Now the father has two objectives - to catch the actual murderer and stop Sid from getting to them first.

The return of Sid.
22 March 2018 | by Sleepin_DragonSee all my reviews

The Sins of others stands as one of the best episodes of Father Brown, it is 45 minutes of brilliant drama.

The much missed Alex Price makes a welcome return as Sid, an integral part of the show. He gets a great back story, and returns with a superb story. I've been slightly critical of several episodes which have been a little overly light hearted, verging on being silly, no such issues here, this story lacked any humour, no peeping over hedges or gimmicks, just plain grown up drama.

Excellent characters, beautifully written, exceptionally performed, especially Susie Trayling and Simon Shepherd. Also one of Mark Williams's finest moments, his scenes with Sid were excellent.

One of the very best, this was exceptional.
