Sex & Nudity

  • There are frequent moderate sexual references. Sam's friend Zahid frequently refers to getting Sam to "Bonetown", girls' "titties", etc.
  • A drawing of breasts is seem at one point.
  • Most of the sexual content throughout is implied rather than shown explicitly, and is within the context of the show. No explicit sex or nudity.
  • Elsa has an affair with a bartender. This is mostly done through implicit events, and the only thing we see is them kissing and flirting.
  • Season 1 Episode 8, Paige and Sam are seen kissing, and the scene ends here, we later here he got a "Handjob" from her. We only know about this as he comes back and brags about it.
  • A lot of passionate kissing all throughout the series (season 3 especially) this includes two girls kissing

Violence & Gore

  • S2 E1: The dad punches a wall in rage.

Profanity

  • Occasional use of mild to moderate coarse language such as "sh*t", "damn", "hell", "d*ck", and "twat".
  • In Season 3 the profanity picks up quite a bit with "shit" being used 3-5 times every episode
  • In season 1 there is one use of fuck and there is also a couple uses of it in season 3

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol is frequently depicted in the first season, as a major character is a bartender and numerous scenes occur in the bar.
  • On a couple of occasions the bartender character is shown under the influence of drugs or using drug paraphernalia. Cigarette smoking is a plot point once in the first season.

  • Paige cuts off the tip of her finger in the beginning of season 2 and blood is seen but not her actual finger it is later reveled that her finger gets sowed back on.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In the season one finale Sam has a meltdown as a result to his therapist yelling at him. The scene might be scary for children. especially if they have autism, like Sam
  • Elsa's affair while not frighting, could be distressing for some as she is a mother with children, and we see the effect this has on her husband and children. This may also be distressing for those who have been in similar situations in life.
