Filming on the third season of "Absentia" is underway in Sofia, Bulgaria, with new executive producer and showrunner Will Pascoe, who is known for "Orphan Black" and "Shut Eye".
Pascoe will succeed season 2 showrunner Samantha Corbin-Miller.

"Absentia" is about a FBI agent Emily Byrne (Katic). The new season will open three months after the dramatic events of season two with Byrne nearing the end of her suspension from the FBI
An Amazon Prime Video crime thriller, Absentia stars Stana Katic, Patrick Heusinger, Neil Jackson, Angel Bonanni, Ralph Ineson, Paul Freeman, Bruno Bichir, Matthew Le Nevez, and Patrick McAuley. The drama centers on the mysterious disappearance and return of FBI Special Agent Emily Byrne. While tracking a notorious Boston serial killer, Emily vanishes. Eventually, she is declared dead — presumed to be a victim of Conrad Harlow. Six years later, she's discovered in a cabin in the woods, clinging to life. Emily returns home to find her husband remarried, and now she's a suspect in a new string of murders.
In addition, Geoff Bell and Josette Simon are joining the cast, while Will Pascoe has been tapped as executive producer and showrunner.
“Absentia” centers on FBI agent Emily Byrne (Katic), and the new season opens three months after the dramatic events of season two with Emily nearing the end of her suspension from the FBI and working hard to be the best possible mother to her son. Everything is upended when one of Nick Durand’s (Patrick Heusinger) criminal cases hits too close to home and threatens the lives of the family Emily is desperately trying to hold together. It’s a dangerous journey that will take Emily far from Boston testing her like never before and forcing her to learn to trust again, to love again, and to finally realize her true place in the world.
The formality of the pickup is nice since they've been filming the new season for a while in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Those of you who follow Katic on social media might have already seen her hints at the upcoming season by way of photos.

In addition, Catherine Parker, who starred in Hill House as Poppy Hill, is coming to Bly Manor.
Flanagan also announced that T’Nia Miller and Amelia Eve are joining, as well as Amelie Smith as Flora and Benjamin Ainsworth as Miles, the latter two being kids’ roles. Kohli, in a series regular role, is reportedly playing a small town guy with a worldly mindset, who has returned to the country to take care of his ailing mother.
Bly Manor is inspired by Henry James’ psychological gothic horror novella The Turn of the Screw, which takes place almost entirely in an old country mansion. There, two young orphans are looked after by
Parker — who played the ghost Poppy Hill on “Hill House” — joins a cast that includes fellow Season 1 alums Henry Thomas, Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Kate Siegel (the latter two castings exclusively reported by TheWrap), who are all returning for Season 2 of the Netflix horror anthology series.
Character details for Parker’s role on “Bly Manor” — which is set to launch in 2020 — are being kept under wraps for now.
Almost a decade ago, I first worked with Catherine Parker on a tiny movie called Absentia. Last season, she was unforgettable as Poppy Hill… today, I’m thrilled to announce that she’s joining us at Bly Manor.

“Killing Eve” is a phenomenal show, and deserves the accolades it has received, including a Golden Globe earlier this year for star Sandra Oh. But those three BAFTA wins came with a bit of controversy. In allowing the series to score 14 total nominations between its TV awards and TV craft awards, BAFTA (aka the British Academy of Film and Television Arts) bent its own rules.
In order for a program to be eligible, the org usually requires it to premiere in the U.K., and for creative control to reside inside the U.K. “Killing Eve,” however, first aired in the United States, on BBC America. The show was also first developed for BBC America. As a U.S.
The story follows Kate (Clarke), a mess of a girl who is recovering from an illness, and a streak of bad decision-making. While working as an elf in a Christmas department store, she meets Tom (Golding), who may be just what she has been looking for. Check out the trailer and poster below, and let us know if you’re interested in this rom-com.
The film features music by George Michael, including the namesake of the film, one of Michael’s biggest hits and an ever-popular Christmas song. The cast also includes Emma Thompson, Michelle Yeoh Patti LuPone (Penny Dreadful), Ingrid Oliver (Doctor Who), and Lydia Leonard (Absentia).
Paul Feig directed the film which was co-written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings.
Last Christmas hits theaters everywhere on November 8th.
The full second season of Absentia, commissioned for Sony Pictures Television’s international networks, premiered June 14 on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. as well as in select markets globally, following its March 26 debut on Axn. I hear the series is already gearing up to begin production on Season 3 in Bulgaria where the first two seasons were also shot.
Created by Gaia Violo and Matt Cirulnick and based on a pilot script originally written by Violo, Absentia centers on FBI Agent Emily Byrne (Katic), who had disappeared without a trace and was declared dead after hunting one of Boston’s most notorious serial killers. Six years later, Emily was found in a cabin in the woods, barely alive, and with no memory of the years she was missing.
Because let's face it, we all hated Alice, at least a little.
And that was before we knew what she'd actually done to Nick and Flynn
I can recall during Absentia Season 1, how I'd desperately try to see things from Alice's point of view.
It couldn't have been easy to be Flynn's only mom for so many years, only to find that the mother she thought was dead was very much alive.

It would have been difficult for any step-parent to let someone they'd never met and didn't completely trust get close to the child they loved.
But Alice becoming Nick's wife and Flynn's step-mother after they tragically lost Emily wasn't by chance.
It was all part of a plan.
But Emily, Cal, and Nick won't stop until they fill in all of the blanks, especially since Flynn's future is on the line.
Getting access to the Catalyst Database allowed Emily and Cal to answer a lot of questions.
Unfortunately, uncovering that same information is what got Detective Tommy Gibbs killed.

As much as I hate that Tommy is dead, I am relieved that he didn't take his own life. Although he was obviously upset over the suspension and the status of he and Emily's relationship, I just didn't see him as being suicidal.
Finding out that Dr. Odewale was a part of this horrifying conspiracy shook Emily to the bone, not only because she trusted him but
